When IE7 goes nuts, and it does sometimes, it appears a "limited" version of it, "Internet Explorers without add-ons" or something. Make sure you're not running this version, it should warn you somewhere once you open IE7.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest to drop IE7 and install mozilla firefox. Many users think this Image after they try it.

Also make sure you browse your security software options, just in case you've installed it recently.

Chances are that you have the program compressed and divided in chunks.

You should tell me what extension have those files. Extension is the 3 characters that files have after a dot. For instance the Word files have .doc extension.

But anyway, if you go to Winrarwinrar site you'll download a program that decompresses almost any thing you throw at him. Most used compression formats are .zip and .rar . A compression is used so that what initially occupies 3 cds, actually fit in one.

Just install winrar, and then go to one of those multi files you have and open it. If the program is installed then you should see what's inside. Then you select Extract (decompress) and presto, you have it.

Normally this programs have a crack. Which means the program that removes the copy protection. You should follow the instructions to do it. Normally there's a README.txt or something that explains how. Sometimes it's as simple as clicking the crack file. Other times you have to replace one file by another. But for now, try what I've told you.

It may be just a coincidence but I reinstalled windows xp a couple of weeks ago and now find that I can no longer download photo's from my digital camera , I've tried reinstalling the drivers for the camera but my pc apparently doesn't "recognise" them  :(

Any idea's ?

I have partioned my hard drive . One of the partions is 19.5Gb . It apparently has 11.8Gb of free space ,however when I total the space taken by the folders in that particular partion (C drive) they only amount to 4.5Gb.

19.5 Gb minus 4.5Gb should leave me with 15Gb of free space not 11.8Gb . I've apparently lost just over 3Gb of space on this particular section of the hard drive.

Any ideas as to how I trace whats happend to that 3Gb ?

I dont know the full answer to your question mate... but i may know something.

I guess you have to take into account the accessories and the window itself for taking that space. for example when i bought my new computer, it had 160 GB, but then when i turned it on (still brand new) and checked my free space, i had about 158 GB.

im no computer expert  :Oo:
