Woof, since you are clarifying, my understanding is that deleting accounts is so drastic, it's only by user request right?

To the best of my knowledge, in the forums history with just one exception ( PeeWee) any accounts that have been deleted have been at the request of the user.

Mod's can ask Admin to delete a members account although its simpler to just institute a ban.

The couple of requests submitted for account deletion (In ten years I can only recall two) have been because the user has spit their dummy after a slap from the mods.

It says all everybody needs to know if the resident clown asked for his account to be deleted. I bet the request took less than a millisecond to be actioned !!!

Last season I seem to remember, maybe the start of. Site upgraded to latest version of the hosting software. A nice feature of the upgrade is now the site shows well on a phone browser.

Funny you should say that...

It appears quite well on my phone, BUT I can't change pages while viewing a thread with multiple ones. Not that I really comeon here on my phone anyway, but just thought I'd point that out. :D

Since the sites' upgrade some measures were introduced to prevent us from being swamped by spambots, I'm not sure if this has had an effect on recruitment, registration of new members however does seem to have slowed to a crawl.

I've pm'd Admin to discuss the issue.

I think Saint was the only member I can recall insisting his account be deleted ,but then he was prone to overly dramatic conclusions. :D
Incidentally I thought the board in general was in much better shape when the protestations of both Big Mick and Saint where being respectively
aired, but then that was when such integral members like Ciggy and Nanny Red were also on board.

Bigmick and S@int are definately missed.

Nanny and Ciggy used to post in general more often though I think. To be fair, General chat used to be the place to be. Now its full of no-one... something needs to be done.

I think allowing new users to post freely can help this.

Saint turned down a request to become a forum moderator, he did however continue to query almost every decision made by the moderating team.

Big Mick was a moderator who decided to step down from the moderators position, but like Saint he then went on to question almost every decision the mods made.

From my perspective (I could be wrong) it was almost as if Big Mick and Saint wanted to have a great say in the running of the forum without having to take any actual responsibility for it.

Having said that, they were both outstanding posters who contributed a great deal to the forum and their input (when positive) is still missed by those of us who remember them.
