This thread had a lot of support towards you. And this thread is meant for that. You are receiving a lot of support. You can also disagree. Saint has done so in a spotless manner. You're both clever and educated so I don't think you need to call names whatsoever Peewee. You have more literary resources than that.

Also Barry, you seem to have a short memory. Do you not remember your problems on this forum in the past when you were (quite rightfully) banned for racist outbursts? Do you not remember who agreed to give you a second chance in coming back?

Again, to clarify, I didn't "complain" about Peewee. I asked LFC whether it was wise to have peewee as a moderator. I have no personal issue with peewee (how can I, he's a complete stranger).

For example, I'm reasonably friendly with Leon on this place. Leon can be a handfull, but I enjoy his posts. Leon would love to be a mod, but I don't think he would be suitable, but that doesn't mean I think any less of Leon as a poster (and in so far as its possible to know somebody on this forum) and as a person. A good lad and a good poster doesn't necessarily mean a good moderator: its a cr.ap job with no thanks and it is exactly this kind of c.rap that LFC, supersub, jonnymac and stmichael have to deal with on a daily basis. What happened with peewee was a mistake no matter what side of the fence you stand on, no one can deny that and I don't blame peewee at all for being aggrieved, but sh.it happens, lets move on.

i think we're all ignoring the most important point here - this forum at night is open to all sorts of feckin idiots, spammers & porn/virus merchants

people like stu are no problem (if you don't like his posts don't read them) but the alter-egos & wums are a pain in the @rse for everybody. and as for the porn merchants, well they're a threat to the whole forum from a legal point of view as well as for those who have children using this place, and therefore cannot be tolerated in any measure

peewee was an excellent choice to police this place at night - he spotted a wum a mile off and was on here regularly enough to be effective and keep the place rid of idiots. as several
people have pointed out, being a mod certainly isn't a privilege; it is an administrative nightmare requiring a lot of time & patience from those mad enough to do the job. in terms of ability then peewee was perfectly suited to the role

mods are expected to be completely impartial & unbiased in their role and i find it very bizarre how some members expect mods to be some kind of white knights who can somehow agree with everyone and yet at the same time uphold the values of the forum. for f*cks sake you can't please all of the people all of the time, sometimes majority rule is the only way

i hate getting involved in this kind of internet stupidity because although the minute i log off i'm back in real life where t'internet matters not one jot, i still love this forum and i hate seeing it going to the dogs. this place desperately needed an effective mod at night and we had one until some people deemed their own agendas more important than the forum itself

Dont get me wrong, im not against anyone on this forum or for anyone but I would like to know why peewee was "hired and fired" in the short space of time. I for one would like mods to have there opinion, if there opinion has to agree with both sides of any argument then I for one would dismiss them as idiots, simply because they are a yes man for both sides of the argument.
