''meaty'' discussion

To quote Bob the mod ''there is nothing wrong with  meaty discussion''. This place used to have loads of ''meaty'' intelligent discussions where people were able to put forth an argument even if it leaned on the side of controversial dispositions.

Opinions were shared and diversity in opinions was what made the discussions so good. Not any more though, the thought police still reside here and as previously exhibited in the late 'Osama Bin Laden' thread if you hold a view that doesn't go with the grain, or isn't political correct, and you even back up your statements to put forth a good argument/discussion certain factions of the board come quickly raiding in labeling people. They can't grasp another point of view that differs, they can't except that their self righteous views are opposed. So instead they label you ''Anti-Muslim'' and what not for sincerely questioning and asking questions that are obviously too close to their bone.

Let's not forget here either that these righteous people are not even Muslim's or Islamist's themselves. Yet for some reason unbeknown to me they feel the need to defend it - FAIR ENOUGH! But they do it all WRONG, because they defend it by lableling someone as ''Anti-Muslim'' or a racist or whatever. They're not defending it they are inciting hatred to people who have different views. Infact the only two sensible people in that thread were Muslim's themselves, they didn't play the ''Anti-Muslim'' card they intelligently discussed the issues in that thread - MetalHead and later on Keris. So why other people come wading in and take the whole thread out of context and fail to read deeply into the discussion is beyond me. Yes, I started the discussion with a provocative comment in that thread but it eventually evolved into a very good discussion, something that is as rare as rocking horse s.hit on here because of people who simply can't understand what is being written.

Then yesterday a comment was made about Juventus being miserly, I altered the spelling to Jewventus. Low and behold the self righteous thought police came wading into the threading treating this comment as ''Antisemitism''. An old stereotype used in jest was turned around and used against me as I NOW apparently hate the Jewish people. kin el lad!

Britain has definitely lost it's humour if these are the kind of pumpkins that quickly run out throw a label on someone in the name of PC. So, a few people may have not found it humorous - again FAIR ENOUGH. But don't come out with things like antisemitism to show your disgust with it. PM me and ask me to take it down if you REALLY are offended by it, but don't act like a self righteous pr.ick about it. There have been MANY more comments like that on here over the years and generally it was taken as light hearted banter or such. Now it seems not only has Britain become a humorless nation 'scared' to crack a joke without someone on behalf of the joke causing uproar, but now Newkitt too. It wasn't always like this, what is it that is now in the water over in Blighty that prevents 'freedom of speech' light hearted jokes being used?

I live in Australia, get called a 'dirty POM' a 'Whinging POM' a bloke whose from a nation where the 'majority of people have manky teeth' yet I don't go all out kicking up a fuss I take it as good old banter, otherwise I'd pop a blood vessel every time I'd hear such a 'naughty' comment - it's all good fun. And I certainly don't have or would want some self righteous Aussie accusing his fellow people as 'racist or anti-monarchists or anti-British'. If I was like SCS I would have had to move back home many years ago if I wasn't able to tolerate a bit of banter. So SCS, stay where you are NEVER come to Oz you windy little turd.

I didn't read the osama thread and I only viewed the Aqua thread a couple of times, mainly to see if he had been sold, so I'm unable to comment on the initial post.
I can however add to the meaty discussion in the title.....It appears that today is going to be hot and it has been suggested I host a BBQ for the family and a few friends. So I thought a good selection of meats...I intend to do chicken, beef and pork in various forms of burgers, steak cuts, kebabs etc and hot dogs for the nippers...what other meats do you suggest

Can't go wrong with a bit of seafood on your barbie, if you ask me. I especially like BBQ crab, muddies are the best, can be tricky if you've never done them before.

Don't forget the veggies. Your standard potatoes, onions, tomato etc. Grilled mushrooms rock as well.

Oh and to the main part of KK's post. Totally agree in that it's a PC mad world.

However I also believe that if someone does not like you they will throw the closest thing at hand in you face. In real life, it would be along the lines of 'shut up you fat b@stard', but a forum the easier thing is a label that can attached due to posts.

Cuts both ways, so not point whinging about either.

Try some lamb cutlets they're nice especially with some mint sauce drizzled on them.

burgers cooked to perfection....steak was done to order(you could even hear the rare ones moo)

Anyway on a side note ; I hate PC too
