I recall the original poster making some sort of remark in the Rugby World Cup thread along the lines of Britons being "the best race in the world" so forgive me if I'm slightly dubious about his motives in starting this thread.

Britain has always been multi ethnic going back to Roman times, and I recall reading about a DNA survey which found that theres loads of Gaelic, French, Norse and German blood in the English race. I think the "problem" people have now is with skin colour and religion rather than ethnicity.

Depends on what part of the world you were born in, mate! I dare say that dictionaries in some of these places have the word "English" beside certain expletives in their language.

To the newkit ultra right wingers: Do not worry, I don't plan to go to United Kingdom to earn my money and live, I just will love Liverpool football Club, and once I'm ridiculously rich, travel there in my personal helicopter to watch the matches. But I won't live there to increase the "problem".

Just amazed what kind of people can reach to be a college lecturer, he doesn't only have a problem with different ethnies, but also with  English citizens such as John Barnes or Hamilton, who are not white. And I thought and was grateful to England for winning the WWII among other things to combat that kind of ideas...

Yeah, but Hitler also liked to go to Cork and places at the very south tip of Ireland as a resort. It's also well known that because of these relations that the IRB at the time got a lot of it's arms through the Nazi's to fight British forces that were occupying down there at the time. This doesn't mean to say that Hitler wouldn't have taken the war to England. If he'd the ships and the means, he would probably based his assault on this Island, and when he was done, wiped out the rest of us, being the mad c*nt that he was and all.

Still, even after the war had been won, did you know that Ireland were the only country to give them a game of football, so in honor of that, this is why Germany's away strip is green. Hmmm.

Also, on the subject of the topic, it came out in the media about a year ago or so that N.I (or Ireland as a whole) was the most racist place in Europe. Over here we have Union Jack waving skin heads, that sing God Save The Queen and all that, but then do a  Nazi salute after they stick up an Israel flag on a lamp post, which were home of the Jew and who Hitler hated the most. You tell me: is that not the most backward contradictory thing you've ever heard? No wonder it got voted the most racist place.

On the first comment, I hope he just was exaltating the values of the britons, and not talking about a real superiority. I hope.


And on the DNA survey thingy JBG, if you haven't more traces than that is because you leave on an Island and all the Spanish Armada was sunk because bad weather But I think it's obvious to anybody that your Island was populated from the continent and it had several foreign invaders (let alone commerce) and thus a mixture of genetics.

My country for instance has no "pure" race. We have been a country in which Germans, Arabic, Phenicians, Roman, Carthaginians, French have travelled, commerced, and we have fought everybody. We didn't go to America to make a country of white people, we started fúcking with the locals as soon as we arrived, we cannot help that, it's instict, we like to fúck and mix with other people. So in my country it's virtually impossible to find a "Spanish race". Myself I'm white and blond, others are like Luis Garcia, Xabi Alonso himsef doesn't look stereotypically Spaniard... we're a fúcking mixture. And I'm proud of that.

BUt then, that's just me. In my country we also have people who think the Spanish race is Spanish, which is wrong.

Don't discard the possibility of not being the consequence of a shipwreck but the Spanish sailors were told there's good beers and women in your island. They probably went there instead of war in a little detour mate

It wasn't meant as a get at the Spanish or even get at Sabre post mate. More a commentary on the British psyche. If there is one Englishman left standing we claim a glorious victory. We even claim its a victory when we run away (Dunkirk) sometimes even when we dont actually fight, then its a great victory for our common sense(Vietnam). When we do lose (American war of Independance ) we usually call it a draw, and then just never mention it again

I think there is far too immigrants when I am out and about most people don’t even speak English they speak Punjab, Polish and every other language bar English, it’s quite disrespectful IMO.

Then there is the fact that most immigrants are racist hypocrites who sponge off the state and reap the benefits of the welfare state and English life. They bring their religions over here, their food, their clothes, their people and their language and refuse to co-operate and integrate with British People.

They steal housing and jobs which us British need, they commit crimes and conduct in illegal acts, they rob, steal, whinge and bitch and hide behind human rights. Many have no right to be here, they are illegal’s who have gotten in through the border with France.

I’m sick of them as is most of Europe, I can’t even go into my city centre without being faced with Polish, Africans and Asians. English people are becoming an ethnic minority here and it’s sickening, truly sickening.

I know who I am voting for in 2009 and it’s a party led by a man who cares for British people and British values, who isn’t afraid to put us Brits first and ethnics second instead of the other way around.

It’s about time this country woke up and shut down the borders and send half these people home, England is not their home, we are their cash cow supplying them with a better lifestyle.

Maybe if these lazy people worked in their own countries and helped their economies they wouldn’t need to swamp and suffocate us or be a pain in our gang goolies.

I hate people who move to a country and dont learn the language and involve themselves in the culture.  My mate who has bought a house in spain was moaning about the locals who cant understand him and how hard it is to get proper food like beans and chips

To clarify, I like and welcome the immigrants who come to England to be apart of the country and generally like the place and work hard to help this country. Also if I was to move to India, Jamaica, Ghana or Poland, I’d live they way these people do and obeyed by their customs I wouldn’t swamp them with British traditions, values and fish and chip shops.

For Xmas I would like England to be England once again and not this melting pot of crock which it is now.

  The same immigrants who uphold our economy, the same immigrants who uphold the NHS.

It's all very well castigating immigrants as the root of all evil, the reality is, without immigration, Britain's economy would not function.

It's also worth distinguishing between types of immigrants, rather than lumping anyone who remotely looks foreign as 'them'.

There are undoubtedly conflicts that arise as a result of immigration, there may well be issues concerning certain groups of immigrants who choose not to integrate, and some who receive benefits, and some who cause havoc.

There are also a hefty number of Britons who also receive  benefits (4 million on unemployment benefits I believe).

There are also a number of Britons, who simply refuse to accept any level of immigration, and who are simply racist, gut feeling prevailing over pragmatism.

Your attitude woud certainly indicate this, or maybe you are just grossly misinformed about the reality of migration, 'shutting down the borders' would indicate this.
