I was in New York recently, loads of nationalities and a great spot - personally i think that mixing up all various races makes for the hottest women  :D

Over 30% of Londons population of 8 million are non indigenous. There are over 50 non indigenous groups that have a population in excess of 10,000 and over 300 different languages are spoken in the capital.

Whilst this mix of cultures makes for a vibrant and exciting city the differences between the cultures can also be a source for disharmony , tension and in some cases resentment by the indigenous people of London at the arrival and behavior of the seeminglessly ever rising tide of immigrant groups .

There is no doubt that British society has been fundamentally changed by the arrival of peoples from all corners of the globe. Many of those changes have been positive whilst equally, in the eye's of many British people, there have been many negatives.

A disproportionate amount of crime (per head of population) is committed by "ethnics" and it was revealed last week that two entire prisons have had to be designated to hold them.

I don't think there are too many ethnics in Britain, I just wish that many of those that are here would stop acting like Wopdongs.

:D

there was a good programme about british immigration last week. The conclusion was that some ethnic groups do very well and others very badly, Nigerians do well (i was surprised) and Somalians do badly.

Britain should concentrate on the ones that do badly (on welfare etc) and either stop them arriving or make them work.

personally i dont have a problem with foreign folk at all, in fact i visit there places while on holiday etc.

but i do think we need to close the borders to immigration, and concentrate on getting poverty off our streets first, rather than helping any tom, dick or harry that happens to arrive on a banana boat.

we are so lax in this country, and to think we were once GREAT britain.

I only wanted to point out the irony.

The issue behind the original post from a possible WUM (IMO) is real, and i've seen the changes (myself) in every trip i've made. but perhaps this is not the forum to discuss it in.

Our common thread is football, our passion is Liverpool Football Club. The issues affecting the club are fair game, IMO, this one we'd be better off discussing in another forum.

We are sometimes victims of or own tolerance . Scenes like this on the streets of London last year , are hardly designed to encourage multi cultural harmony.

and reports such as this hardly suggest that welcoming the world to our island is the right policy

The influx of Romanian migrants has led to an explosion in crime in this country, it emerged last night.

As recent members of the EU, Romanians have had free access to Britain only since January 1.

Yet in the first six months of this year, police say, they were responsible for 1,080 offences. During the same period in 2006, only 135 such crimes were recorded.

In an ironic twist Romanian authorities say crime there is dropping, fuelling suspicions that some offenders may have moved here.

The figures, obtained by More4 News under Freedom of Information laws, will raise concerns that criminals are exploiting their newfound freedom.

A leaked Home Office memo, written last year, revealed anxiety in the Government that known offenders would travel to Britain.

Superintendent Bernie Gravett, of the Metropolitan Police, said 'organised' criminal gangs were now operating in the UK, particularly in London.

Police are concerned they are using under-tens - who are too young to be prosecuted - to commit offences such as theft.

Officers believe that most of the money generated by the gangs is being sent back to Romania.

Stan Bitlan, head of the police force in Ialomita County, Romania, said: "Yes there is a connection between what is happening here and the UK.

"What they are doing in the UK appears here in Romania in the form of luxury cars and houses."

He added that money from crime committed in Britain was being transferred to bank accounts in Romania.

I read something similar a while back Woof, said they were coming over here specifically to commit crimes, then nipping back to their country of origin before the police could catch them.

Obviously they arn't familiar with our policeforce or they wouldn't bother going home to avoid being caught :D

To the newkit ultra right wingers: Do not worry, I don't plan to go to United Kingdom to earn my money and live, I just will love Liverpool football Club, and once I'm ridiculously rich, travel there in my personal helicopter to watch the matches. But I won't live there to increase the "problem". :D

Just amazed what kind of people can reach to be a college lecturer, he doesn't only have a problem with different ethnies, but also with  English citizens such as John Barnes or Hamilton, who are not white. And I thought and was grateful to England for winning the WWII among other things to combat that kind of ideas...
