Football manager 2005 vs cm5 - What to do?

Has anyone bought the new Football 2005 game from Sports Interactive, the makers of the popular Championship Manger series?

The makers of the original Championship Manager games have jumped ship and brought out Football Manager 2005 as a rival to the Championship Manger franchise.

What would people recommend I do?  Wait for the trusted Championship Manger 5 to come out in December or buy the new renegade Football Manager 2005 now?

Or buy both?

It's a dilemma.

If you have the money then both [along with FIFA 05] if not buy yourself one of them, and get somebody else to buy the other for Christmas. :blues:

In all truth I'll probably buy it tomorrow, and still buy Championship Manager 5 in December.

I was just wondering if anyone had bought it and wanted to tell me what they think of it.

i have football manager 2005. i have to admit that it takes some getting used to. many of the options are in different places on the main screen.

what i do like however is that you can slag off fellow players and managers! alex ferguson and ruud van horseface beware! :D

I'm a PC games fan (although not as much as I used to) and love strategy games, but strangely I never really got into management games.

Might check one out soon.

Will ye guys report back on your findings?  :)

I will report back.  I might start a Football Manager 2005 thread off for tips and tactics.

I've already warned my good lady what she's in for once I've bought this game.  It's very easy to become addicted to these games.

The only reservation I had with football management games were that I always wondered how accurate the stats were, and it also annoyed me how out of date the games can get, often as soon as they are released.

My better half has taken 2 months off to go travelling to Australia and New Zealand so I might have time to indulge myself, Johnny!!!!!  :D

Bought it yesterday.  Quality.  Third in the league after 13 games.  Addiction certainly does have a new name.

Luis Garcia is ****** for me though.

He is getting match rating's of 4 and 5.  I've tried giving him a free role and letting him be creative.  Does anyone own this game and know anything about training routines?  St Mick perhaps?
