A 'Swami' is like a respected elder....Someone with knowledge and the like!! Like a small village may have 'Swami' who they go to for advice etc;
I think it comes from India.....many rap artists in the US and UK, can often be heard referring to themselves as Swami's, dont know why...but there you go!
