Sissoko? - To be involved

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Rafa D » Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:11 am

Just heard on Radio City 96.7 that Sissoko is back in the squad after his eye injury. He could be involved tonight and is likely to be wearing protective glasses - like Davids - he is gonna look cool!! lol.

Well Done Momo Lad hope to see you there.

RAFAEL BENITEZ has revealed that Mohamed Sissoko could make a shock return for Liverpool in tonight's FA Cup quarter-final at Birmingham City.

The Mali international midfielder has been missing from the Liverpool side since picking up a serious retina injury following a kick to an eye during the Champions League defeat at Benfica on February 21.

At the time it was feared that Sissoko might even be left partially blind and there were question marks over the 21-year-old's career but just four weeks later, he is poised for a possible recall.

Benitez said: "I think he'll be in the squad. I don't know if he can play yet but we've been trying all different types of glasses to protect the eye and we'll have to see."

With Liverpool playing their second game in three days, Benitez said that it would be impossible to know his team ahead of yesterday's training session but admitted that he'd be forced to make some changes from Sunday's line-up.

Wow, good news and whether he plays tonight or not is not a big concern. It is really good news he can recover so quickly.

It will be good to see him back in the team. The midfield has really missed his energy and enthusiam in the last few weeks.

Great news on Momo. Ideal tonic for the end of season push. Squad now almost back to full strength.

I can see Momo involved at some point tonight and back in at weekend for derby. He was immense against them last time round.

Welcome back Mo!

The future's so bright, he gotta wear shades!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
