I don't like Riikjard, not as tactical astute as Pep, Riijkard had Ten Cate doing all his work at Barcelona

Seriously though I think Rodgers is being pragmatic about the situation and realizes that he doesnt yet have the necessary experience to take a job as massive as the Liverpool one. Fair play to the man for that.

Im starting to hope every fucker turns us down so they will have no other option than to give Rafa another shot .

the media are all over martinez and he is the bookies favourite for the job with avb a close second.
i dont want either but imo its almost a done deal and this list of interviewing other people is a farce as fsg have there minds made up with who it is and its going to be one of the above.
that list is nothing more than a smokescreen to buy them time and appease the fans.

i'm really not at all surprised we're speaking to managers like rodgers and martinez. they fit right into the vision that FSG have set forward for the club - young, upcoming, attractive modern football, etc etc. its only right that they are seen to be talking to them. lets just hope though, that they'll see sense that neither of these two have the necessary experience for such a big job at such a critical moment.

What has John Henry heard that the rest of us aren't aware of that makes him think Martinez is the guy who can get us back into the champions league.

I'd prefer Gus Poyet over Martinez. He has achieved nothing short of a miracle at Brighton considering the lack of funds and very low wage bill

the fact that they are even considering him proves that they know fook all.
he is a yes man that will fit into there new structure for a couple of years and try to build something in the process and then in a couple of years when we have a stadium and extra revenue then he will be replaced with someone else to finish the job.
they are only bothered about this club following the money to the cl and if league performances are the precedent that they have set then i cant see why they think this man is right for the job.

With several candidates being interviewed they will go as much on their impression
and gut feeling as much as anything else.

They clearly have an interest in all those invited for interview, probably some more than others,
but are ensuring they dont let someone slip through the net.

From their perspective they need someone they can work with and that will fit in well within
the new structure and staff behind the scenes.

You could interview a guy with the best record on paper but you just dont like him, or couldnt
work with him.

Its important that owners and a manager can work together and good combinations can be really
effective even if the front man is not seen as the best choice by supporters.

I dont think we have had the right team behind the scenes let alone the best managers and
you only have to look back our best periods in the bootroom days, up to Paco and Rafa, to see that
those combos are vital for success.

That's all? Did I miss any?

Graeme Souness and his detachable moustache
Kevin Keegan and his anxiety coach
Steve Keane and his never say die attitude

Well you started with the ridiculous options ,I set in bold the most silly mate .

Very good question. It seems the only real qualification he has is the big, shining pedestal the media have placed this darling on. People shouldn't understate the power of the press in this country, especially where football is concerned. The media want this smiling, friendly chap in who has achieved nothing of note in top flight football other than to hang on in there. Most of the fans don't want this man. What's more powerful? Fan power? Press power? Or just maybe FSG will make their own minds up, rather than taking the bait and installing this friendly nobody into the hotseat. Those that think that Martinez will join us and bring this beautiful "brand" of football, and that we'll soon be up there and challenging with the best again are, for me, rather naive.

The reason that the likes of Martinez are even being spoken of in regards to our managers chair is simple: There is no f***er else to consider. It's not because he's good, or has some great insight into the beautiful game, and nor is it because he has powerful contacts in all 7 contintents, a finger on the pulse of world football if you will. I repeat, it's because there's no f***er else. We should have hung onto Kenny.

Whoever gets the job isn't going to have much power anyways by the looks / sounds of things.
