The question that needs answering is 'will we play like this against 'smaller clubs'?

Joe Allen was immense, Gerrard had a good game.

We should have won and we gifted them 2 easy goals!

Positives? Great performance

I must say I'm glad that Enrique looks to be back from his knock.  Johnson back on the right and Enrique on the left is a way more comforting set up for me than when Kelly's back there.

We've unfortunately probably lost Lucas, so I guess Sahin will slide in for him against Arsenal.

I enjoyed it, it was a really good match and if we can play like that in a majority of our games this season, we'll have a much improved season upon last season, but what annoys me is how our mistakes cost us points.

Excellent performance backed up by a rocking Anfield.

Gifted them 2 goals, but to be honest would have taken a point at the start of the game.

Lets hope we can emulate this against other teams.

Allen - excellent

Sterling - lively

Excellent performance, frustrating result but, given that we are two league matches into a major work rebuilding phase, I'll accentuate the positives.  We're starting to get a picture of how Rodgers wants to play and I'm very excited by the 'tika taka' style.  I could see the players truly buying into the philosophy today: after a slow start, we were all over the champions and absolutely bossed the midfield for much of the match.  That high tempo pressing game put them on the back foot and kept them there.  The best part was to see us still pressing after scoring the opener, looking to add to the advantage.  It was also lovely to see some goals coming from set-pieces (it feels like an age since we scored from one).

The goals conceded were unfortunate but part of the bedding in process for the new system, I feel.  Anyway, onwards and upwards lads.

Jonjo Shelvey was very good against Man City today.

You're kidding, Adam won't be a Liverpool player by the end of the window. Not a Rodgers player, slow and a liability. Gone right off him.

Anyone think that Rodgers doesn't really rate henderson?

He did pick Shelvey over him

I don't think Adam, Carroll or Henderson have a future at Anfield.

I cannot see Henderson getting much of a look in to be honest and to be honest I can't grumble about that. Henderson has done nothing of note since his arrival last summer. One goal against Bolton and an assist at Stoke isn't enough for me. Henderson's work-rate is just poor in my book.

I think it might be a bit premature to ditch Henderson. I think he has a bright future ahead of him....He's a big strong lad and has a bit of talent too. For me, it'd be daft to get rid.....
Was he on the bench ?

i wouldnt say henderson`s work rate is poor, imo he is athletic and he gets around the park, you could argue that there`s not a lot of end product in his game but to question his work rate is odd.
