Agreed mate, whats more i dont think he would cope with the speed of the premier league. In the Italian league he gets plenty of time on the ball, that simply wouldnt happen over here

That Kovacic is the one I'm hoping for, he'd be superb in our midfield

Some sections of the press are saying that we've put in a paltry low ball offer which has upset inter, I hope not.

I hope Arsenal outbid us by a quid and our committee refuses to match it.

I can remember him turning us down at least twice before and looks set to do it again according to alan smith.
He could be a good player for us but can't help feel that if we do get him it will be because we are giving him stoopid money out of desperation. He is 29 and will want at least a 3 year deal.

That may go in our favour tbh, Wenger dosn't normally do more than 12 months contract when they hit 30

Mirror are reporting that we are in for Jose Fonte of Southampton, not sure how i feel about this, especially the way things have worked out with Lovren
Anyone have any thoughts on Fonte ?

I wouldn't buy any defenders, imo it's not a priority atm.
All our money should be spent on CM's and a CF.
Don't want Milner either, the only reason we are in for him is that he's on a free.

He made lovren look good last season. He has pretty much lost everyone he played with but they still managed to boast the meanest defense in the league this year. He is a proper leader from the back and would have been great alongside skrtel this season if we had of went for him rather than waste what we did on lovren. He is 31 though and I can't help but feel if he does come in it will at skrtel's expense. Lovren is almost 26 and for me hasn't shown the required composure to be a leader.
Have to say though, I am again underwhelmed at the players we are linked with. I don't think we have the money to fix what needs to be done and it looks like we are robbing peter to pay paul.

This
I'd much rather see us spend whatever we have on 2 positions with quality players who will start and make a difference. if we need another CH then why did we buy llori.
The worst thing we could do this year is bring in a heap of new faces.

CR Fonte made Lovren look good. Jose Fonte has been fantastic where ever he has played thats who we should have bought instead of Lovren but the club went for Age instead of Quality

Danish papers are linking us to Kasper Schmeichel, would certainly be a massive upgrade on Jones OR should we be looking at Begovic to really put pressure on the mig ?? Begovic seems certain to leave in the summer, if the press are to be believed and the fact he has been dropped for Jack Butland

According to the Mirror and Telegraph, James Milner has decided to join us based on the fact he dosn't want to uproot his family and take them to London, plus the fact he wants a central midfield role which he won't be guaranteed in London
