Im going to go

It will take a lot of persuasion to get her to spend Saturday night in Rome in a football stadium but I reckon if I start tonight then she might be okay in a few weeks

Do it, only set up an evening that you have planned so that she cannot change it. Go to the match then tell her afterwards you have booked you both into a nice restaurant for a meal. To sweeten her up totally plan something before the match for her and your all set.

If not then she is a hard woman to please !

Fair enough mate ...besides a few weeks might be ample time to develop an immunity to having hot food thrown in your lap

Well, they beat Roma last September, when I was in Italy on my honeymoon. We were passing through Napoli on our way to Pompei. The place was deserted. It was a Sunday and NOTHING was open (except the history museum). It was like Dublin on a Sunday afternoon 20+ years ago. All the shops closed and nobody in town. All of a sudden, there was an almighty roar from the apartments we were walking by and I remembered that the match was on in the San Paolo.

Napoli though, is a sight to see. I've never been to a bigger shithole in my life and I been to some dodgy places. Google "Naples is a shithole" and you'll get about 50,000 hits back.

Rough as fuck. The contrast between there and Rome etc is incredible.
