He is seriously taking the pi$$  :nod he picks up a knock in a training ground incident that was going to keep him out for a game or 2 and now its been 6 with still no sign of him returning

Getting very frustrating.  Amazing goal getter but not much use when he is not available for large parts of a season.  Just want him to be fit and get a uninterrupted season under his belt but I'm losing hope that will happen

Same here really want him back playing week in week out. Im sure if he was playing we would be scoring a lot more.

Last straw really. Can't afford him to miss more time after the international break.

Get rid I say. He will never play anything close to a full season for us, probably not a half season.

Question arises though how much is DS worth with his awesome injury record???

Best player at the club by quite a bit. If he returns the next game and manages to stay fit for the rest of the season we'll finish in the top4. If he doesnt it'll be a tough ask. For what we'd get for him,I wouldnt consider selling him for a second. If he moves to an Arsenal or Chelsea or Utd and plays a full season he's likely to prove the difference maker.

His injury record is a worry, but unless we get ridiculous money for him it would be madness even considering selling him.

aCe you keep saying how good Sturridge is but we aren't seeing it as he is never fit. Even if he was fit he is quite lazy.

Cut our losses with him

I do agree a fit DS playing majority of the season is a game changer. The lad is class but like many say his hardly ever on the pitch.
How many times do we say "when DS is back the goals will flow". The lad is possessed with injuries.
Tbh i would like to keep him as an extra striker (even considering his injury record) but financial ways i dont know ifs its worth paying someone that much whoes hardly ever on the pitch.

Aguero suffers just as many injuries, I can just hear the City fans saying 'sell him'   :glare: sometimes our fan base vex the fuck out of me. I mean we struggle to score goals when he's out, and posters still bizarrely want rid of our only proven and 'given his record' ridiculously prolific striker  ???

Fck logic. How many players in this side score more than 10 goals a season ? Regardless of the number of games they play ! He's had a bad season and a half (so far) of injuries, no one will dispute that. He's injury prone, no one will dispute that either. That said, he still is one of the best forwards in Europe and his record (the best in the club's history in terms of goals per minute, and goals/assists per minute) compares only to that of the very best players in the world. You try to sell him and the top clubs in the league will all want to take that gamble. He isnt on 200k+ a week, he's a proven goal machine, he's English, his value is at its lowest, and most importantly he's only 26 and has every chance of putting his injuries behind him.

League only stats:
His first half a season, he scored 10 and assisted 5 in 1088 minutes played
His second season , he scored 22 and assisted 9 in 2269 minutes played
Last season, he was injured and still managed to score 4 and assist 3 in 749 minutes played.  The same number of goals our other forwards Balotelli, Borini, and Lambert combined managed.

For you to even suggest that him being lazy is a good enough reason to consider selling him is madness. He's a striker, his job is to score goals, he does that better than anyone in the league bar Aguero. We've had Origi fit all season; I'd suggest Sturridge has contributed more in the 200mins or so he's played than Origi has all season. Funny enough, I think you'd probably assign them both the same value in the market.

Reports in various papers last night / this morning all suggesting that he is now stepping up training and is as good as 50/50 to return in some capacity for the City match

But he isn't even close of playing half our games in any season!
He is the highest paid player and just not available for selection.
Playing 10-15 league games a season is just not good enough, no matter who you are.
