Liverpool scouts eye Burdisso

Seems like Rafa is actively looking for cover in central defense.

inter - valencia - Demonstrates some strength and desire to close down on players , and willing to take a punch for the team in the process!

I haven't seen much of him, but from I have something that stands out most about him is - he scores goals. I think he got a hat trick this season against some team.

Season stats - last 3 years

06/07 - 7 goals in 34 games, all competitions.

Interesting note regarding the valencia - inter CL game, he played in midfield. Definitely seems to be a versatile player, very much a Rafa type - who can play in several positions.

With Hyppia committed to staying another year I don't think Rafa will see a centre half as a priority position in the transfer market. Buying someone like Burdisso to develop and maybe play a few games at RB or CH would seem a sensible option at a sensible price rather than go out and buy someone like Millito @ £10m +. Then Rafa can concentrate on the striker and 2 x wide players we need!
