Bolton have parted company with manager Sammy Lee by mutual consent.

General manager Frank McParland has also left the club.

In a statement on the club's official website, chairman Phil Gartside said: "This has been a difficult decision for all parties but we have agreed that time is right.

"Sammy has played an important role in the Club's recent history. We wish Sammy and Frank well for the future."

well we need a coach, and here is a coach who knows the club well and knows all about being a red, do you think he would do a good job if he cam back to us?

From BBC..

Bolton have parted company with manager Sammy Lee by mutual consent.

Lee was promoted from assistant manager in April 2007 towards the end of last season after the exit of former boss Sam Allardyce.

But he has had a difficult start to the current campaign as Bolton lie second from bottom of the Premier League.

"This has been a difficult decision for all parties but we have agreed the time is right," Bolton chairman Phil Gartside told the club's website.

Shifted here.

Bad news for Sammy, loved him, and he is a sound bloke.

The Bolton board needed more forsight to see that the dramatic change in style (Lee was moving them from long ball to football) would take time.

Hopefully this will mean its harder for Arsenal against a Bolton side with a point to prove next week.

Within a week he will be back here.  Unless he wants another bash at managing.

Poor wee sammy, but if your the chairman at Bolton and you see your side finish in the top 6 or 7 for the past few seasons and then all of a sudden your are 19th..........well you would get a bit panicky wouldnt you.

He tried to change the way they played but as much as I hate to say it Bolton need to go back to basics

Urgh, how I hated those basics from Bolton though! (But maybe it also had something to do with Fat Sam  :D )

Btw, have any of you read the story about Diouf deliberately being sent off at club level during his career, so that he would be able to play for his country instead?! Absolute wan.ker  :no

From what I heard a few years ago from Heighway, Sammy Lee is a good coach but very much a "yes man", if we are going to go down the ex-player route I would prefer Gary Mac myself.

Sammy Lee is a top top coach with years of experience not only with us but also at national and european levels.
Gary Mac while being an ex player and likeable has nowhere near the same level of experience.

Seems like an ideal move for both parties.

I'd agree with that, Gary Mac comes across as intelligent and diplomatic, i would expect him to get his point across without pissing people off.
Anyone heard any rumblings about him possibly coming?

Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
