i was hunting for the help thread but couldn't find it.
anyway, i have my own website through which i archive, advertise and network my work, and googling my name or the url of my site normally gets the tops few hits on the page.
today something baaaad has happened. if you google my name or the url name it is still the first link BUT the title and description is for 'youjizz'. the link still goes to my page where everything looks fine, but obviously this is not the impression i want to be giving to my professional circles...
do any of the hardcore geeks on here (sabre... saint...?) know whats happened and how i can fix it?
obviously i look at porn sites from time to time as do 99% of males, but the honest truth is that i have never been to this one. it can't be a direct virus, or hack then, i suppose.

Spyware can't infect trojans and other surreptitious software. Update all your virus and spyware scanners and do a complete system wide scan.
If your website files are hosted from another machine (company server, etc) you need to spyware scan those too.

Well it's an interesting problem, nothing to do with virus or pórn in your computer I'm afraid, but I still can't find any explanation looking at your source code and the scripts you have.
Let me have a good look at it, and I'll come later, it's interesting besides annoying.

Hackers sometimes add numerous, extra .htaccess files in unexpected locations (including above root). They also sometimes add blank lines prior to adding the code.
In addition to removing things that are clearly visible, you should upgrade any blog, forum, gallery, CMS or other script to reduce vulnerabilities created by outdated code. Let your webhost know that you have been hacked and see if they will assist in identifying the problems and vulnerabilities that led to the problem. Confirm that any software they are responsible for is current.
You should also be aware that many of the more current web-site hacks are the result of the computer being used to maintain the site being infected. The FTP credentials are being captured and used to hack the sites. Even though this may be an .htaccess or httpd.conf issue, you may still want to consider this as a possibility for this occurrence, or possible future occurrences.
You should examine and clean the local computer, using multiple products (as no single product is able to detect and remove all malware), change the passwords and consider using SFTP or FTPS as a more secure protocol.
Be sure to use updated versions of your operating system, browser, and other applications (especially Java, Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Quicktime, RealPlayer etc). Many are recommending that you disable javascript in Adobe Reader.

Good news: Your site is not hacked (Huzzah!)
Bad news: Google shows the descriptions and/or titles based on what you have in your site (which is all nice and clean), OR, by the references that point to your site.
So those guys at youjizz, who are very present in google if you look, have somehow achieved that.
What you can do: That's what I'm researching now, perhaps changing your title and keywords, in other words Andy mate, I'll look how you can fix it making changes to your web site.
It's possible that once you make the changes, it takes a while to be fixed, and it's possible aswell google algorythms detect that attack and it's fixed alone.
At least nobody hacked your site, it's just google tricks by some pórn spammer.

Could it be somebody has messed about with the server?
Im not entirely sure about websites. I have just started messing about with one to create an Intranet for the two we have here using the built in IIS with vista. The last time I used IIS was with XP Pro and used microsoft front page. Things have changed a bit since then.

Andy do you have access to your site? I mean, are you able to edit the html and have access to the ftp site?
Google works with the concept of "relevance", in order to put you in the first positions of google.
What's relevant and what's not? If your title of the site has nothing to do with the content of the site, it will be less relevant than if it is. That is, make sure that your title, which currently is "front: hostprods.net", speaks of something that later on can be found in the text of your site.
Also no keywords can be found in the source code. Keywords are the words for which you compete in google. But if you put keywords that later are not found in the site or not enough repeated, then you'll be penalised. If you don't put keywords, youjizz can use that to their advantage too. Keywords in your site could be for instance, biology, biorama, insects.
So it seems you are not pointing high in google scoring system, and that's why the cyberspammers are winning you that battle. We have to change that, but I need a bit of time.
Remember, google likes it relevant, and likes the fresh stuff, so on first glance what you should add is keywords, new content, and that the keywords match some of the new content. That will beat the porn site tactics.
I'll help you further, this is so that you know what the problem is.

i've been going through the google webmaster forum, and the indexhibit forum (the software template i use for my site) and have recommended to look for 'obfuscated php code' and other stuff. i'm sure that the recommendations are sound but the problem is that i just don't understand half of it!!
one thing i've seen that might be a good idea is that i verify the site through the google webmaster tools. do you think this might help?

You have to edit your web site, add a few lines, edit the title so that is better, and that's the only solution. It will probably not work in hours, but it will work in some days.
Waste your time in those forums, and when you get tired of things that sound techy like obfuscated php scripts, and you want a real solution, PM me

Sounds good to me Andy, then again anything with obfuscated in it sounds good to me mate.
