Dalglish - I hope not

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Would Kenny be able to match the lofty achievements of the current manager though, that's the question. Would anybody come to that  ???

He's the best there is out there this fella we've got :)

Wouldn't make a difference who it is. If a manager came here and didn't win the league in two seasons, he'd get the same sh*te from the same people.

What a load of :censored: lad !

Name me one liverpool manager who hasnte been given a fair crack of the whip by the fans?

Rafa has had 6 years not 6 months, and take a look at the table
we are competing for a europa cup place, and I wouldnte put the mortage on us getting one!

Im pretty sure there has been people giving Rafa plenty of stick for a number of years now - some in his very first season

No doubt
But the vast majority of fans (myself included) have given him support as liverpool manager for most of his 6 years.
But enough is enough, hes not the man to take the club forward, in fact hes peaked and we are now going backwards under his leadership.

I am sure some posters have compiled complete dossiers on the limitations of our current manager ,but for the purpose of this thread can we not divulge to many diary entries :D and keep the format of the thread mainly on Dalglish

we all love Kenny but i think he is worth more as a non manager now, put it this way, we all look up to him for whay he has done for the club, what if he come in and we ended up 15th a sacking him after 20 games.

yes beeny you are right, i was saying that Kenny and Sammy would only step in for a very short time until the new manager was ready to take over....it would only ever be for a very few games.

I think Dalglish would be a success running the club ,as he would probably excel in any job he was given in football ,but that wasn't included in my reservations as to why I considered it  essential he was not offered the job

15th ffs Lakes    ???

Benny The Noon wrote:We have had a poor season after a very encouraging season

Actually, what we REALLY had, was a poor season after a very encouraging three months at the end of last season.

Nothing more.

The majority of last season was plagued with the same boring football and average performances.

To come second in the league with our highest ever points total is more than just 3 months worth . Results is what matters at the end of the day and you could just as easily point to dropping points like the 4 all draw to arsenal as another reason we just missed out . We had a drop in results around jan that cost us , the other months we were getting results

We fluffed a stupid amount of draws last year, like the year before and that was because our football, for the most part was boring and predictible and hadn't changed that much from teh previous season. It just so happens that at several stages last year we have huge slices of luck to aid us in the campaign.

It was only in the last leg that Liverpool went out to attack and THOSE results are what matter, because it was indicative of what the team could do against the opposition.

There was nothing that "encouraging", from the point of view of a team moving forward, for the most part with last years football...bar the last run in.

We were conservative, average and predictable. "Results" may go a teams way, even with those drawbacks, but that's not the way forward in the long term.

yet its a way that both the mancs and chelsea have won the league in recent times - when was the last time a team won the league playin all out attacking football that the fans love ? 2004 maybe with the unbeaten arsenal ? People say we were poor all season last year bar the last 3 months yet we were top going into jan ? and we also dropped points during that three months as well .

Oh please.

There is no similarity in the way Liverpool play and the way Man Utd and Chelsea play. Be serious.

Week in/week out Utd go out and attack the oppo and they NEVER let up. That's why they've a litany of late goals under their belt. Even at 1/3 gear last weekend they still made a show of us. We had two shots on goal all game.

Liverpool sit back, with a wait and see attitude. The don't get forward. They don't support their single striker. They don't go for the kill and far too often they end up paying for it.

There's a little bit more honesty needed in your observation.

To be frank, Liverpool need a bit of what Utd have got, even in Utd's shadowy times. They need that umph, as much as I hate to say it. A basic co-ordination and a killer instinct that is lacking so much in Liverpool.

One thing can be said about the fuckers, they never go out simply hoping to snatch a victory. They go out with the belief that they can do it.

Liverpool need a more attack minded approach if they are serious about getting the Premiership in the future. Because the conservative approach Benitez had instiled in the team has rendered them impotent.
