If the Alonso deal is not done by Aug 5th i think Rafa will tell them to F'ck off.

Madrid Big team making big noise but are big p'ussy's, just pay the money or leave the dude to get
on with pre season.

All we need is an attacking midfielder, a striker and a right winger and a Cb, bloody hell how far
will 30mil stretch?.

Unless Rafa put's the reported 30mill with whatever he has for his budget and get's Villa and Silva... But
we all know this will drag on and on untill all of us turn insane, so i won't hold my breath.

Steven Defour's agent has confirmed that Liverpool are keen on the Belgian star.

Real Madrid have joined the hunt for the Standard Liege playmaker, who has previously been the target of Everton and Aston Villa.

Real were considering Defour should they not sign Xabi Alonso from Liverpool, who are also viewing him a replacement for the Spaniard.

Roma's Alberto Aquilani remains a target for Rafa Benitez, but Defour is also very much on the radar for the Anfield club, who are expected to sell Alonso to Real this week.

Standard have insisted that they will not be parting company with their prized asset but, Defour feels that is not the case.

"I have an agreement with Standard Liege that I could go to a top club, and Liverpool fit the bill," the 21-year-old is quoted by the English press.

And his agent, Paul Stefani, has confirmed that Liverpool are keen on Defour.

"Steven's name has been mentioned not only at Real Madrid, but also at Liverpool - they are looking at him too," he told the Daily Mail.

"Normally he would stay for another year, but nobody could say no to clubs like those - and Liege would not stand in his way."

***********

More on Defour from skysports. He has been captain of his team since he was 19, reminds me of Torres. We need winners on the team and he seems like one.

When are we gonna buy the Striker and Winger that we need?.

So am i correct in thinking we haven't got a pot to p'iss in or what?.

This whole close season has been flippin tedious to say the least, Glen Johnson and who else have
we bought....Nobody, all we here about is Alonso.

I am so sick of this cr@p.

I wouldn't be surprised but well :censored: if this goes on until deadline day and than it goes through all over haggling of 2 to 3 million

I'm getting so fed up with this Alonso rubbish i've decided
to build a partition wall to separate my two girls.

All this transfer business is giving me an inability to withstand
whining noises made be two kids in one room.

There would be a few quid left over for T&T's little 'pot' and we would have added depth, experience, quality AND cover...in equal measure. 4 factors that are going to be critical in determining our fortunes given the platform the club is ready to build on from last term. Anything less...is going to be a setback.

Vieira is an excellent shout..... He'd definitely do a job there.

Sadly, I don't think he'd ever come here..... If he returns to the premiership, it's my gut feeling that he'll go back to the Gunners.

That's the most footie thing you can do if you want to be a continental style fan. Yes, no welcomes to Alonso, leave that for the american girlies.

if Xabi isn't there, would anyone on Real be able to understand?

Nope. It's just Rafa being a hard b@stard in negotiations. Unlike that soft clown we had before.
