Reg wrote:If Xabi wants to go, like with Ronaldo at the end of the day theres no stopping him. My concern is the first 3 months of the season are critical to winning the league so its not the time for a new player like Aquilani to be learning player´s names, finding a house and fast track learning how LFC play.

The only solution as I see it is to sell Xabi for the full 35 million for release in January, buy Aquilani now, give him 4 months to learn the club and the game then he takes over in january when Xabi leaves.

We havent bought Aquilini, he hasnt trained with us, he doesnt know our strategies, strengths or weaknesses, he doesnt know how Torres or Stevie like the ball on which foot in which sectors of the field so how can we expect him to come in and make the required impact from day 1?

The longer this goes on, the least likely it is Xabi will leave, but if he does, surely a bigger exposure for LFC for the above reasons.

Why the heck would Madrid buy him for 35 mil now and not release him until Jan ? Also If Xabi stays then he will play in the CL of that there is no doubt so no club will pay 30 mil for him in jan .

Yes, I'm not a begging man myself, I chose the incorrect word. It will be quick as it will be in my work (1), and I'll just ask him a photo for the fans of this forum, reminding him the support he has here and he won't have in Madrid.

(1) Uncle Alberto is a security guard and a friend of Xabi's dad, since he has to visit uncle alberto to avoid the queues, uncle alberto will phone to my number as soon as he reaches the building. But I won't have time for a big chat.

From that GuillemBalague.Com

Xabi Alonso & The Truth

We always do our best to give a balanced view of the facts on the site and strive to convey the complexities of any situation. We also go out of our way to stress that nothing in football is definitive, that circumstances are always likely to change and that just because a deal appears likely to go ahead on one day, it does not mean that it necessarily will.

Unfortunately, it turns out that not every website seeking to make an impression  upon the ever expanding and developing space called the internet follows the same principles that I or my fellow professional journalists have a moral obligation to adhere to.

As a consequence I find that I must regrettably point out that the website Sport.co.uk has been doing very well out of taking information and copy from this site and misrepresenting it in order to drive traffic to their own.

In recent weeks, Sport.co.uk has invented statements and falsified quotes that they have attributed to me. I take no pleasure in having to respond to this, nor in having to name that website, but feel I must do so as their frequent deliberate fabrication of comments from me is damaging to reputations, not to mention a waste of our time as we find ourselves engaging with comments on this site in response to things that people have read elsewhere and that do not reflect my opinion.

Sport.co.uk: While it is undoubtedly a form of flattery that you feel you must take every single transfer story from this site and reproduce it on your own, I respectfully ask that you do not persist in inventing comments and quotes and attributing them to me. Sport.co.uk currently has a story on their site under a headline that includes a quotation – Balague: “Alonso will be a Liverpool player next season.” I have never said or written the above as a statement of my own personal opinion - and by placing it in quotation marks represents a deliberate distortion of an article previously published here.

One of the primary motives for having a personal website is that it gives me an opportunity to share information and my own personal opinion first hand: in other words, if you want to know what I think or what I have heard, then you know that GuillemBalague.Com is the place to come. With regard to Xabi Alonso, we did report the other day that there was a more optimistic mood within the Liverpool camp that Alonso would be staying and that a source at the club had said that “there is more chance of Xabi staying at Liverpool than there is of him going.”

However, over the last 24 hours, events have moved quickly and it now appears that Real Madrid are edging closer to meeting Liverpool`s demands. This follows the news that Rafa Benitez has set Xabi a two day deadline on the deal, which effectively signaled to Madrid that they either pay €30 million ASAP – or end their interest for good. Understandably, Benitez wants the matter sorted as quickly as possible if he is going to have to replace Alonso. However, despite the fact that numerous press reports are claiming that a deal could be tied up as quickly as the end of today – a word of caution: Florentino Perez will resent being seen to respond to an ultimatum and Madrid may still drag their heels. The Spanish club are also trying to offload players to free up salary and squad space, and it is possible that may still delay matters.

There are still a lot of people involved in this deal who will not want to lose face or to walk away with their reputation tarnished and human nature dictates that an element of stubbornness by any party could still lead to complications.

It would appear that Liverpool are prepared to lower their asking price, the player is ready to go and Real Madrid are on the verge of making an improved offer – so at first glance the transfer of Xabi Alonso looks set to go ahead. However, while there are widespread media reports claiming that the transfer of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid is a foregone conclusion and that it will happen within 24 hours, I would say that, at this exact moment in time, there is still a way to go before a deal is finalised and until the deal is complete, nothing can be taken for granted.  As a close source to the whole deal told me this morning: “Nobody knows if it will happen or when it will happen”…

Now heres a different version FROM MACCA888 OFF RAWK

XABI ALONSO & THE TRUTH BY Guillem Balague MACCA

One of the primary motives for having a personal website is that it impresses the ladies. They fu.cking love seeing my smug grin on their mobiles. It also gives me an opportunity to spout my own worthless personal opinion first hand about shi.te that I've either made up or stuff I've dreamed about: in other words, if you're stupid enough to want to know what I think or what my lie of the day is, then you know that GuillemBalague.Com is the place to come. If you just want to wa.nk about on the internet, you can either use my site or a whole host of free downloadable porn. But my guarantee is that my site has by far the biggest tw.at on it.

With regard to Xabi Alonso, we did report the other day that there was a more optimistic mood within the Liverpool camp. I saw Sky Sports News and Rafa was definitely smiling. But it might have been indigestion. So Alonso could be staying and the woman at the chippy over the road from Anfield said that “there is more chance of Xabi staying at Liverpool than there is of him going because he fuc.king loves our Chicken Foo Yeung with a carton of curry. And the Scallops. He said it's better than the Lobster Pot.”

However, over the last 24 hours, things haven't changed one fuc.king iota, although I'm guessing that Real Madrid are edging closer to meeting Xabi's demands. He phoned Perez up, I imagine, and may have said "Benitez is a shi.thouse. I asked him to book me a flight to see my missus, and he booked me on fu.cking Easyjet. EASYFU.CKINGJET! The tight tw.at. So I end up going from the fat Spanish bas.tard home to Mrs Alonso via a big fat Greek bast.ard. It's a conspiracy of fat c*nts, I'm telling you! If I sign for you, will you promise me that I can have a personalized helicopter with infra red goggles and a man hanging off the side with a fuc.king big gun?" Understandably, Benitez wants the matter sorted as quickly as possible because he took out the £7 insurance off Easyjet, and he can either change the name on the return ticket or get a refund on it, but he needs to know at least 2 hours before check in if he is going to have to change the name on the ticket for one of his mates to replace Alonso's name on the boarding pass. However, Florentino Perez will resent being seen to respond to an ultimatum and Madrid may still drag their heels. "That fat turd can go fu.ck himself! It was only £39 + taxes, the fuc.king min.gebag, so I don't know why he's whining like a fuc.king little girl. He couldn't even splash out for BMIBABY. Ha!" Is what Perez would probably have said with an angry face. In a really loud voice.

However, while there are widespread media reports claiming that the transfer of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid is a foregone conclusion and that it will happen within 24 hours, I would say that, at this exact moment in time, I know exactly what I did yesterday and what I will know tomorrow. Some politely say not a great deal, others like Macca are less polite and say I know fu.ck all. However to all my doubters, I say “Nobody knows if it will happen or when it will happen” especially not a fuc.king dipshit like me.

I took a nap this afternoon and had a really intense dream about us selling Alonso and signing Aquilani, Silva, and Thiago Motta (no idea how he crept in there ???    :D   )   all on the same day

I will be really ****** if the latest reports are true that he price is now 30 million Euro.

Hopefully false, but anything less than £30 million is a steal.
