They're aiming for the second one to be the highest selling game ever. Reckon it'll be £50 when it comes out, they're doing all sorts of editions for it as well. One for £100 that comes with NV goggles  :D

£50 is a bit steep!! Today I was looking at COD4 for the mac as im changing over soon. They are selling that at £40 ffs. l :D

This game is already available for pre-order at Tesco.com for £36 (for the xbox as far as I know, normally the same for other formats).

Only trouble is I don't think you can cancel the order.

There will be offers once the launch date is nearer. I don't expect to pay more than £40 for it. I paid £33 for World At War. Which incidentally doesn't even deserve to sit alongside COD4 in my games cabinet in my opinion.

Hey pc gaming boffins, right I bought a new computer a while back and it was brilliant apart from it has a shi.tty graphics card, so now im looking to buy a new one

I'm probably going to get a 1gb one but i was looking at a 2gb,so my question to you is do any of you guys know what the most power hungry games are at the moment, or in the near future? and what graphics card they would need? and would i get any benefit at all from buying a 2gb one rather than 1gb?

What specs are your pc Goat? as in processor, memory, also what would help is whether your pc has a PCI-E slot and how many?

It's got 3 pci-e slots

Intel core 2 duo, 3.00ghz, 4GB RAM, Vista ultimate, 650GB hard drive

Everything else is fine I just need a much better graphics card, it came with a 256mb one

Thats pretty similar to mine. For the time being I would, if I were you, not spend too much money on a graphics card and go for 512mb one. I have a Nvidia geforce 9500 GT card. Its not the best I can get but it does the job for the current games out, Call of Duty 4 and 5, Devil May Cry 4, Dawn of War 2, to name but a few. Resident Evil 5 is out this month which utilises the 3D vision glasses. I'll be getting it to see how it runs, and have a good idea already that it will run fine. To get the best though, I would have to buy the goggles which are pretty expensive and a monitor that runs at 120 hertz. Which explains why I asked for your specs for your pc.

Having more than one PCI-E slot enables you to add similar (Nvidia or ATI) cards side by side to use them both for games of a higher quality. COD 5 has an option to use dual cards to improve the performance, and many more games in the future will no doubt use what is on offer now.

So there would be my advice. Save your money and invest on a 512mb card for now. If future games demand more power, buy another similar card, install it and use them both. For now though, 512mb 9500 GT Nvidia or above should see you fine.

Ah thanks for the advice mate, i might just do that, I'm just looking to run any modern game to a high quality and not having problems so i was going to get the 1gb one to make sure, i didnt realise all that stuff about having 2 cards run along side though, makes sense now I think about it

I'll look into prices anyway, I'm sure I'll have many options

One more thing though, I've seen different sized pci-e slots so how do i know what size mine are? And will it affect my choice of card

Can you get different sized cards?? I'm not great with all the small technical details haha i really need to get upto scratch with that
