but any fool can see man utd are on the way down, arsenal are the team to beat now, ok man utd might beat us, but remember that our team is on the way up and we are rebuilding after houlliers mess so i don't see y it should bother anyone what man utd is doing

One win, one loss, one draw

Manchester vs. Chelsea 0-1
Manchester vs. Norwich 2-1
Manchester vs. Blackburn 1-1

Liverpool and Manchester have the same exact record for the first three season games. That is why I asked why are we slated more than them?

Reffering back to my post, Van Nistelrooy is a great player however it has been proven that it is no easy thing to recover from injuries, it affects the players performance, especilly strikers.

Saha is an effective player but his partnership with Smith has been all that good.

Face it, aged players are not as effective in the Premiership as they are in other leagues [example: Seria A]

Wayne Rooney's record says it all, yes he is a good striker but the fact remains that he has recieved more bookings than he has scored goals. When Cisse signed you didn't hear LFC fans saying that we were Gods like Manchester is with Rooney.

We were slated before the season even began. I respect Manchester United as a squad but not their cocky fans who think that they have become gods after one signing.

That was the whole point of my post, we can all look at the bad qualities of every player but nobody ever looks at their good qualities. A Manchester fan recently said that our only good players are Gerrard and Hyppia?

Stu I respected you because you are one of the oldest members here, however that has respect has been flushed down the toilet with your last comment.

Do not question my intelligence, I am not some 300 pound Yank who recently became a fan of football. Since my birth I was raised to love and play the game, and have watched various football leagues in the world. If you disagree with my post then I understand but there is no need for you to try and insult me, if you are going to do that atleast state the reason why I have no football knowledge.

You don't seem to be sure about that statement. If you were to reread my post I never stated that Ferdinand was NOT a world class player. Simply I said that one player does not make part of the squad better, this goes same with us. Just because we have Josemi at our grasp does not mean that our entire defence is good, because one player does not make the whole squad the best, you need to understand what I was trying to say before you run your mouth.

The point of my post was to show that any player can be critisized because every player has a flaw. I did not say that I did not respect the Manchester squad as whole, HOWEVER I have no respect for their fans, this whole post was pointed to their fans who are blinded.

I will not respect idiots, I will not give respect because respect is earned and not given. Manchester Utd fans critisize our players every day of thier lives, weeks ago they did not say anything because they weren't looking good quite themselves. Now they have signed Rooney and here is what a typical Utd fan is going to say

"WE ARE THE BEST SQUAD IN THE PREMIERSHIP!!! YOU ALL SUCK DICK!!"

Football is a team effort, it is not a one mans game and it will never be, otherwise you might as well go ahead and play tennis.

As the saying goes "offence only scores the goals, defence wins the games", best describes how sports is today. This has been proven in football just as much in any other team related sport. Real Madrid for an instance have great strikers, but their defence causes them to perform poorely as a squad.

This post is towards everyone who has tried to insult me in this thread. I do not care if you disagree or not, if you have something to say then do so but at least have the common sence to back that up.

I should had clarified my post, because it was directed to the fans and not the club itself. They THINK that they have become gods due to the fact that they have signed Shrek from Everton, however that is not true but they fail to realize that.

As I've said before, Manchester Utd. mainly have old players, old players are not successful in the Premiership unless your Alan Shearer which I don't think anybody is on the Manchester squad.

Wayne Rooney himself today stated that Utd. won't be winning the Premiership this season, he stated that it will take two or three years before they do.

Then the fans have the odocedy to say that they[Man Utd.] and Chelsea have taken our spot in the title race.

Who are they kidding? Our record is exactly the same as theirs, only one difference is that they have one point more than us because they have played 4 games and we have played 3.

Lee J, that post was rather ridiculus, have you not realized that Utd has played one game more than us? They had the exact same ****** record this season as we do, why are they picked over us is the question that I am asking because I do not know the answer to it.

The game changes, he might not be the same player when he comes back.

There defence WITHOUT Ferdinand is good. Its not the best, but its good. Probably still in the top four or five in the league. With Ferdinand, its the best. He makes that much of a difference. The fact that they were well in touch with Arsenal last season until his ban backs this up aswell. Any match going fan of theres will tell you how good aplayer Ferdinand really is.

stu as usual you jump in mouth first..when I read the post about oldest member,I gathered that A.B. was referring to the fact you have been a member for a long time,not your age,you infant!

And the quote about scoring flies in the face of all the rhetoric you were spewing last year about the great Houllier tactic of forget attacking it's defending that wins games.You ofcourse were the biggest supporter of the GH battle plans of defend from the goal line and hoof the ball long for Michael to chase and sneak a goal.

He probably did "mean" that, hence the smiley face. Thats not what he said though. I'm not overly arsed about it, i just simply corrected him.

Stu, you have a very complicated thinking ability because you did not understand that. Anybody can score, but not everybody can have top notch defending. Offence scores, yes that lets you get into the game but the defence wins the games. If you do not understand that, then think about it. The defence is in the way of the other side from scoring, if the defence is tight then your opponent will not score and if your opponent does not score you win the game.

Let me give you an example since you have a problem of understanding that concept. Arsenal vs. Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough have talented strikers, Hasselbaink and Mark Viduka, who are capable of scoring as many goals as you can possibly think of, HOWEVER if their defence is poor like it is their opponent can easily get back in the game.

Arsenal were losing 3-1, correct? Their goalkeeper is far worse than Dudek, however they were able to get back into the game because they had talented players and Middlesbrough had a terrible defence. When you have a bunch of lousy defenders, a striker such as Henry can easily go through them and score, or get his team-mates to score which he did. If Middlesbrough defence was solid, Arsenal wouldn't had scored the last 3 goals in less than half and hour.

If we could all score goals as much as we could do everything else games would finish 60 odd all. Hence the reason STRIKERS cost more money than defenders. GOALS win you games.

Not defending. The best defence ever who conceed no goals doesn't win you anything if you can't score.

Where as if you're better at scoring goals than the opposition, chances are you'll win.

Simple as that.

I dont know about strikers costing more than defenders.Top class centre backs are worth their weight in gold.
