Here are the common ones:
When alls said and done: Very common this one. What I ranted about at the start is what is wee weeing me off. I lost track in the middle but the general gist is this person is a tw@t !
Swings and roundabouts: No idea. It is used a lot. And is used in many situations and has no meaning what so ever. At a guess, its to make people sound clever, but in fact they have lost even themselves in there phrasing so the good old "Swings and Roundabouts" pops its head to cut off the sh!te they are spewing !
To be honest: Easy this one, they are being far from it. By placing that phrase first, it just ends any questions about what they are saying.
At the end of the day: Mostly used by footballers who have to give interviews and just want to sod off and spend there money or do there missus, you get the idea. It is usually an interview finisher, when a player says this it usually means, I DONT KNOW YOUR SCARING ME WITH ALL YOUR BIG WORDS !
Ya know: Michael Owen is famous for this one, whenever he does an interview the amount of time he says "Ya Know" is unbelievable. Actually Michael, no we dont. Many other interviews include this and the pattern is the same, the reporter asks the player and after a thousand "Ya Know's" we get the overall "The team played well" out of the players interview !
What common saying gets on your nerves? Used even by your friends. Its better now as the chavs have made simple phrases sound even more stupid. Sayings like "I couldnt care less" have now been changed to "I COULD care less", eh? The original made sense, when someone said that it meant your next words to me are going to be "BLAH BLAH BLAH", but now it means, convince me !
Share your experience folks, enlighten us all ! When someone uses a phrase, what does it mean and how can you take what is being said.
A lesson can be learned here !
