not looking forward to this one at all, don't know why. I can't even guess what the starting eleven might be because we've got question marks over some key players and Gerrard out. I've put a bet on 0:0 just to be sure it doesn't happen tho :D

Insua is still in south America, and Rafa said toda that Alonso and Torres might not be fit.

is elzhar still around ? if Alonso and Torres are out then id go with something like this

                        Reina

Arbeloa      Carra          Hyypia      Aurelio

Elzhar         Benny        Masch       Riera

                 Kuyt          Babel

doesnt look good at all i know but sadly the best side we could put out im afraid.. looks like a midtable side  but would be interesting to see if the likes of Riera, Benny, Babel and ElZhar could combine well in attack...

having said that i expect atleast one of Alonso or Torres to start meaning ElZhar's place is gone...

Torres injured? Whats up with him then? Selling Keane with no replacement is really looking like a top move at this stage.

West Ham are on good form and Man Utd have a history of dropping point against them. We are playing a poor Portsmouth side managed by an awful manager.

This maybe the weekend we take charge of the title race.

Torres looked absolutely knackered last game and I don’t think we can risk him getting another long-term injury. Hyypia should be in for his aerial presence. It’s a good game to test our striking options outside of Torres so I would play Babel and Ngog from the start and basically ask them prove they can do the business.

                         Reina

Arbeloa    Carragher    Hyypia    Aurelio

Benayoun   Alonso   Mascherano Riera

                 Ngog      Babel

Subs

Torres
Kuyt
El Zhar
Plessis
Dossena
Agger
Cavalieri

Torres looks out of sorts and its not just down to not being match fit, its his mind right now.

Will Rafa play him?  yes but only so it dont show what a prat he was in selling all our strikers over the last 2 years.

anyway, the game might get called off, that would be the best thing right now.

I think Luke's right, Torres looks wrecked, if we're going to prove youngters this is probably the game to do so. Leave Torres on the bench for the second half if needed tho :D

Lakes, what makes you believe its his mind? you questioning his commitment to Liverpool?

no mate not his commitment to Liverpool, I think after being out twice this year every time he gets a knock or feels a bt tight his mind turn to the fear of pulling something again. you can see it most when he tries  to turn with the ball or tries to reach for the ball, he is slow getting up and checks himself to make sure he is ok.

just to reiterate I wasn't accusing you of doing so (even tho the way it was worded implied so). Spain is the jinx mate  :D  hope he doesn't play for them in the coming weeks.
