Steroids or performance enhancing drugs i agree should be life ban. but smoking a joint. IF you got caught by police with one joint...nothing.
3 month ban for being a dumba$$ is fine.

The US presdient has admitted that he took drugs before, should he be banned from politics for life?

It is ridiculous.

I'd ban sports enhancing drugs for life.

Should an engineer, teacher, accountant etc have their livelyhood taken away for life for smoking an illegal drug in their personal time.

The idea is so stupid, I find it hard to be polite.

I haven't smoked a joint or done an illegal drug in over a decade and I probably never will but that is just my choice.

well after a work mate got killed by some pr ick who was driving after smoking the stuff my tolerance for it and its users has gone

I understand where you are coming from. But if he was killed from drink driving , you wouldn't say that you have no tolerance for somebody drinking - as long as they got a taxi home.

I have zero tolerance for any driving under any influence- as mentioned above.

but drinking isnt illegal mate where as drugs are mate and rightly so - you have no idea how it will effect you and your actions .

There are probably more battered women from men coming home drunk than people damaged from illegal drugs. Look at the city streets at 2am on a Saturday, men with drink fighting.

Alcohol is a drug.

Legality is an issue for politicians - I follow my own conscience.

It just happens that the drug I like (alcohol) is legal so I can enjoy it a bar. If I didn't like that drug but preferred an illegal drug, I'd do that somewhere else.

Legality/illegality is necessarily right vs wrong.

That is possibly the stupidest comment I have ever heard mate.

For one, if more people were stoned there would be less wife bashing i think. Alcohol is the main reason for spousal abuse in the world.
