Maybe this is a bit wide of the mark but what do you guys reckon of James Beattie as an attacking option ? He will bring a different dimension to our attack and also he has a decent record of late in the EPL. With Rafta trying to get us using the flanks a big striker like Beattie may be useful. Plus he would create some competition for Cisse and Baros, At around 5 million i think he would be a good asset.

Beattie? Yes he is a good player for a nationwide team. For Liverpool he is a waste of space.

james beattie is not good enough for liverpool. aston villa want to sign him. that is the level he's at. the fact that vassell and heskey are ahead of him in the england pecking order sums this up.
