Thats why they have won titles in the last two decades and we havent.

Precisely.... Luck favours the brave...

Yeah lampard goal was a deflected one (how many of those has he scored)...but he had to be in the opposition box to at least have this chance in the 1st place..

But if we are just concern of not losing the game.....holding most of our players behind the ball ...then we won't be winning as many games as manure and chelsea in the 2nd half of the season.

I am not saying progress hasn't been made....yes we have made progress when we compare to the 2001 team. But is benitez brave enough to take the next step ? He has a $hit load of his philosophy to change if he wants to take that step.

Personally....i don't think he will..

Last week just befor the build up to the last game Rafa had the pop at Plum nose, well this week its all been about his health and his contract.

I fear that Rafa might not be in the best frame of mind to take charge of the team (ok have a pop at me now).

I feel it would be better is Lee was given a free run with the team this week and the next two games are against a team he knows very well and a team he loves to beat.

3-1

For TV Bob, no other reason as far as I am aware.

Somehow Sultana have rights to three of our games in a row - Stoke, Bitters, Bitters (cup) The mancs don't consider the advantages they get of fixture scheduling - they may have a lot to fill in, but they are very lucky that their two games in hand were both home games.

I flicked through a TV guide last week to see what channels midweek games were on etc and farcically Sultana repeated our Stoke game at least twice!

Mancs are on a roll, not a convincing one though, but you can bet if we'd be on that same run we'd be called "lucky" - no wait, we were earlier in the season. Their's must be pure skill, the knack of winning 1-0 (SIX times in their last 10 league games) and scoring a fair few of their winners late on.

Man Utd 5-0 Stoke
Aston Villa 0-0 Man Utd
Man City 0-1 Man Utd (Rooney 42)
Man Utd 1-0 Sunderland (Vidic 90)
Tottenham 0-0 Man Utd
Stoke 0-1 Man Utd (Tevez 83)
Man Utd 1-0 Middlesboro (Berbatov 69)
Man Utd 3-0 Chelsea
Man Utd 1-0 Wigan (Rooney 1)
Bolton 0-1 Man Utd (Berbatov 90)

Just two games in their last 10 (league games) where they've scored more than one goal. Somehow they've avoided conceding and scored four winners in the last third of the game. Noticably they beat Stoke home and away, something we couldn't manage either home or away.

Just glanced at the table a little while ago, the difference between us and them is we're drawing too many games - again. We've lost just one, they've lost twice.

Last 10 league games

Man Utd P10 W8 D2 L0 F14 A0 PTS 26
Liverpool P10 W5 D5 L0 F19 A5 PTS 20

Same GD, in fact our GD is better in terms of goals scored so at least we have the scoring advantage - in fact we've scored 35 goals to their 34 in the same number of games played, how often can we say that when all we ever hear about is Ronaldo's goalscoring feats of last season?

What we need to do is turn our decent goalscoring spree into wins, to score at all but two goals a game and only win half of them is poor - there are THREE nil-nils in there and that is what's killing us (inconsistency)

Since Alonso is out, Gerrard should slot back into CM with Mash.  Lucas must not play, he's awful.

Arbeloa   Carra    Agger    Aurelio

                      Mash

Babel        Gerrard           Riera

         Keane
                     Torres

Rafas probable line up:

Arbeloa   Carra    Agger    Aurelio

            Lucas     Mash
Kuyt                              Riera

        Gerrard
                     Torres

Reina

Arbeloa     Hypia     Carragher     Aurelio

Kuyt         Gerrard   Alonso         Riera

                Torres    Keane

Everton will clog the midfield and they will throw tim cahill upfront as a striker . He's got a habit of scoring in this fixture and is very strong in the air thus hypia and carra will be the ideal centre back pairing . I'd go with agger at left back . I Think xabi will be back , he's been our player of the season so far , and will be an integral part of this game . Heart's saying we will thump them , head thinks its going to be a draw or worse we'll lose , everton have not conceded in 6 matches . We've been hot and cold at the moment and rafa rejecting a new contract will have an effect on the team , its interesting to see how stevie plays as he's got that court case coming soon . Whether we lose , win or draw , the race is not over yet but its clearly in united's hands than , its their title to lose

The biggest game this club has had in a long while imo, not just because it's everton, but because I'm already sick of the media bleating on about how the Mancs have gained some psychological advantage over us. Chelsea, Villa and Arsenal have all kept the pressure on aswell so a victory is a must. Infact I'd sacrifice the FA Cup game on Sunday for threee points tonight, that's how vital it is.

Considering their lack of strikers, Everton have been doing well recently and they're actually a better away side than they are at home. Having said that, we've got better players and the return of Alonso is vital. Arteta may be vital for them but Alonso is even more important for us. If it was up to me, I'd go 4-4-2 with Torres and Keane and drop Mascherano. That's what we did at Goodison and we walked all over them. Alonso and Gerrard ran the show. I don't see why we need a defensive midfielder like Mascherano when they're probably going to play one guy upfront who's 5 foot nothing and not even a striker anyway.

We just need to be careful that we don't give any daft free kicks away around the edge of the area because that's their biggest threat imo.

These games are very rarely great games and I don't expect tonight to be any different but I couldn't care less. A 1-0 win off somebody's backside would do me. Oh and expect the mandatrory red card. :D

Who's the ref by the way?
