Can anyone explain why this game is being played on a Monday night?  It's going to be torture to wait two days with these Manc twunts temporarily top of table. :no

Pi.ssing me off too mate.  Game on a Monday night means I can't watch it because of work - gutted.  I can't see any good reason why it's on the Monday either.

Well, then I can hardly complain I guess since I watch most of our games on Setanta. :D  In all seriousness, it's ridiculous.  Sunday matches are bad enough but Monday evening is just too big a gap between the Saturday fixtures and our own.  It would be one thing if we had played mid-week last week but we had a Saturday match at Stoke last week.  Grrr...

Well whenever it's on, it's now become an absolute MUST win for us. The Challenge for us at the moment as I said a couple of weeks back, is to actually stay in it. The Mancs are well and truly into a mode now where they'll try and win the thing over the next three or four weeks, put it to bed and then concentrate on Europe. Even a mini bliiiiip from us now and it'll all be over Rover quicker than you can say "all I want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague Away kit".

What we must absolutely try and do, is make sure that when we go to Old Trafford the result still actually matters. Ideally, we'd like to go there not 100% needing the win, but we mustn't be 6 points behind or some nonsense meaning that even if we win, we're still behind, and a draw would totally kill us off.

It makes you blub when you think back to the opportunities we've needlessly tossed away this season.

It certainly does them pathetic draws at home and that pathetic team that played against Stoke last week, when the manager was so stubborn he refused to put two strikers on with 20 minutes left and go for it, I am still fuming about that game.
What I witnessed today from Chelsea and the Mancs was no mercy and they got the result in the end.
Thats why they have won titles in the last two decades and we havent.

got to agree with Cigs on this one, cant believe the police have given the go ahead for this game to be played in the evening, there is no such thing as a friendly derby anymore thanks to the bitter tw@ts across the way, they cant beat us on the pitch so resort to singing about people who have died and other such things that dont belong, we are no saints but come nowhere near the level these animals stoop.

to the rest of the world liverpool manure might be the biggest game of the season but not if your a scouser and not in the present climate these scum have created.

The games against Chelsea, Arsenal and United were games that showed potential that we probably had what it takes to stay with the pack. They were important, but this game is the biggest game of the season for us so far without question. This game is a must win. This is a game that if we show up and give Everton a good hiding while knocking United off their perch at the top, will show that we mean business. It'll be a warning shot across the bows to the rest so to speak.  It will be a signal of intent.

The question is, will we turn up, or wilt under the pressure. This is the litmus test. We need to win, and a good performance to back it up is paramount. No f*cking about with this one, Rafa. Stick out a full strength team and just put them to the sword.

I think the fact that it's a derby will already have us pumped up for the game. Hopefully the fact we can go top (if only till the weekend) should be the cherry on the top for the lads to go out there and spank them.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
