Only problem i have is that sure you can criticize but thats all everyone does around here, does nobody have anything positive to contribute?

I wouldnt want to be mates with some of you guys in real life you miserable b.astards, I'd probably be forced to commit suicide. I'm surprised some of you havent already done that  :D

let Sammy take over the team till he is better.

Play your best players.

Dont make silly subs.

and if we beat man u when we play them we will win the prem. (if we dont get 0-0 to lower teams from now).

So both us and the mancs are going to win all our remaining games, apart from the game at old trafford that will decide the title?

Ok thennnnn

Im sure plenty more points will be dropped, things will keep changing

No, dont you see? People who were comaplining about our draws at home to Stoke et al
were just doom and gloomers apparently.
We had to be happy because we were top according to them.

:D  and the season isnt over yet and the mancs havent played their 2 matches so they havent won it yet and we're still top.

Maypax - I'll re-quote your post 7pm Saturday and we can expand on it then.

I felt yesterday that we'd reached a defining moment in the season this past weekend and I still feel the same today.  Paradoxically, we increased our lead on Chelsea (which is lovely) but sacrificed some significant momentum to the Mancs, who will in all probability brush Wigan aside midweek, get a result at Bolton on Saturday and sit top of the table for a couple of days while we wait for the derby to roll around.  We've given them a sniff now and they are going to be right there with us in the blink of an eye.  I hope I'm wrong and they trip up against Wigan and Bolton but somehow I don't think so.  Let's hope the lads can hold their nerve, keep the race tight and we'll see what happens come May.

With that said, I really don't buy into this notion that we "could have been 12 points clear" by now because it's premised on the notion that we should have won virtually all of our games to date.  No team wins all their games in this league.  Even Arsenal's "invincibles" racked up a bunch of draws in their undefeated season so I think it's a little naive to suggest that we should be well out in front of the chasing pack at this point.  Perhaps it's more realistic to suggest that we might have been 5-6 points clear at this stage if we'd won some of the games we drew.  Of course, you could say the same for Chelsea and the Mancs, who certainly will also feel entitled to think they'd be top of the pile now if they'd won some of the games where they dropped points.  I suppose it all evens out.

Rafa will not last another season if he blows our best opportunity in years to win the league.

I still don't feel Rafa can win the league with his style of play, it's too negative.  I hope I'm wrong.

We're not out of the title race, but it's definitely advantage mancs. It's their's to lose.

I've said elsewhere when asked if we can win the league to ask me again after our visit to old trafford. Then we'll know better if we're even still in it. You can either be positive now or negative, but there's still way too far to go to draw too many concrete conclusions. The mancs might slip up, yes we're top but bar ifs and buts the only facts are we are five points ahead of the mancs but they have two games in hand, and we have to go to old trafford.

They may slip up, we also have to host Chelsea and Arsenal which won't be easy, we drew at home to both last season (and away)

If you don't like opinions regarding the club just don't read them.

It's not directed at yourself so why respond?.

The truth hurts sometimes, and come may IF we are champions then great what a feckin
acheivement, but their is always a possible chance that all the dodgy goings on that have
been called into question might bite us in the ar'se.

I don't actually see any problems to the point's that have been made.

if you dont like what i put  - dont read it & dont respond

works both ways

be realistic, were top - fact

Indeed it won't be easy because, say what you will about Chelsea, they're resilient.  They'll have been stung deeply by the result yesterday but they'll bounce back rather than implode and the first thing they'll do is circle the calendar for their end of the month visit to Anfield.  A result against us and they're back in the mix so we'll need to put in a very fine performance indeed to turn them over.  We've arrived at the business end of the season already and it's only January.
