Big respect to Shels tonight for an excellent performance against the "might" of Deportivo  .... held them to a 0-0 draw at home ... not bad for a team that only turned professional a year ago ... great spirit - well done.

yeah, the irish league needs to improve and if shels pull off an upset it'd mean a cash injection of 15million which would definitely help. they might just pull it off too. remember, if they score and away goal then deportivo will need 2. could be 90mins away from being the first irish club to reach the cl group stages. good luck to them

I think it will be very difficult, cause Depor playing at home are very dangerous specially if they need score. (remember Milan?) :p

To be honest lads , I can't see them beating Deportivo at home ... although I wouldn't rule them out of getting an away goal.

Regardless of what happens , it's a massive payday for the club that they can use (wisely) to build from this ...

.... and they still get an UEFA Cup spot too ... so there's a possibility of another "Big" name coming to Dublin in a competitive match ... what odds the scum -  :D

if we were drawn against shels in the group stages i wouldn't go to the game in dublin. its not that i dont want to, i'd love to, but it wouldn't be fair on the shels fans.

They won't win and in a way I hope it'd be bad for football if they did. I mean £15m in the league of Ireland would mean you they'd dominate  football for the next 20 years, like Rosenberg in Norway.

ture, but if they did get that money, it would be spent on buying players from other clubs in the irish league. maybe they would become the chelski of the irish league(on a much smaller scale) but the standard of the league is poor and most clubs facilities are in great need of revamping and this maybe the only way for improvement

Beaten 3-0 nil last night but those Deportivo fans must have been nervous when 0-0 at half time.
