like those games keeps my mind occupied because when it comes to games i get bored so easily.

Bought Football Manager 2009 the other day, installed myself as Liverpool mgr. the board have given me a transfer budget of £3.8 mill. For f'ucks sake I know there's a credit crunch on but I drink more than that !. Anyone got any tips , free signings , "unknown gems" etc.

HELP!!!!

FM2009 - Just cannot get going on this.. no matter what formation I play with or tweak as much as i can with tactics I never get anywhere!!!!

For instance have played two games with LFC and not once got to the end of a season - lower league clubs always seem to be relegated during my second season with them!!!

any tips?

had the same problem crazyhorse! I ended up 4th in the first season because of my lousy start of the season!! I tried different tactics but didnt work, and I got Torres and Keane with long term injuries so I didnt have a good striker, until I used a 4-1-3-2 formation. DO NOT DROP MASCH, ever! he is tooooo good

Try to get a more attacking midfielder, or play Alonso or Gerrard as a midfielder, but tell him to make more forward runs, give him more freedom (free role), play often through balls and direct passing, with Alonso I usually tell him to play long balls. I usually stick Gerrard on the right, because Kuyt is c@ck, but Gerrard in the center, if you prefer him in the center with that type of instructions he will guarntee you alot of goals! Now, Play Mascherano in his natural position as DM, below Alonso or Gerrard, put his mentality as ultra defencive, tell him to play short passes, let him tight mark his opposition, this instruction for Mascha I used away from home, but at home I usually tell him to play more of a direct passing. Your strikers set them as strikers, but fiddle a bit with the forward runs and run with the ball during the game, they can help. Now away from home I usually instruct my players to play defencive mentality, with short passes, tempo normal, passing mixed, tight marking, counter attack and offside trap. Also, Defencive line normal (I use deep against top sides away from home, yes Ala Benitez

If your not getting goals like that with the defencive mentality during away games, shift the mentality to normal and let them play through the middle, let gerrard or alonso as playmakers and use them. Now at home, I usually play attacking mentality, with short quick passes, defencive lineup normal, high width and passing to both flanks. Ofcourse with Counter attack and offside trap. You also have to fiddle around with the opposition instructions as Sammy Lee gives you about them at the start of the game, they are useful and it will help nullify top players.

With that type instructions and formations, I went on a 10 winning streak, ended up 2nd, beat the mancs at OT, but lost the last two games of the season and went down to 4th

My second season, I got Owen,Richards and a really good left winger called Guardado and Im 1st, joint with the Mancs till now
DO NOT MASS ROTATE! believe me, you will lose lol.

If you have utorrent mate, you can dowload off of that and for free!

Woof, I didn't give hyppia a new contract mate, he also asked for 2 years!! but he won't play! lol

2nd season, and Im on a streak! I can't get in Europe, I really can't! I lost to Lyon in my opening game 3-1 at anfield!
