Just like to get an insight into the users on this forum.
I am a very light user on line, but in recent months my time online is increasing. I'd probably surf around 1-2 hours a day. But it is increasing.
Also when I peer over the laptop, the wife is constantly starring & inquiring into my extended stays on the laptop, thinking i'm up to no good. She says I am spending more time on the laptop than with the kids. :no

I've only got 300+ posts on this forum since 2005, which is very few, but i feel myself compelled to increase that, as if it is some sort of addiction is setting in.......

So I just wanna know how long people are spending on the forum each day, and if you take alot of pride in your forum post count.

Are you addicted to posting?

(I'd never go on here at home or outside work, got other things to avoid doing)

I'll admit that I've spent far too much time online over the past few years than I should have. I often use it as a means to make money, but other than that it's spent on here or talking to people I know via IM. I also dabble in a bit of online poker and other means of entertainment like watching TV shows and films etc etc. I'd say that's pretty normal and harmless activity. However, would I say I'm addicted? I've thought about it, and as much as people would like to kid themselves, the net is increasingly becoming a big part of the way we live. In some cases it's essential for some. For me, I'd say that I can happily be without it. I don't find an overwhelming desire to be on it day in, day out for extended periods of time. Although, after a few weeks without it, I do find it irritating that I can't get on to check out certain things, but that's as far as it goes. I'm definitely not an addict. To be addicted to something means that you can't go without it, though everyone is addicted to something. If it's the internet, it's not such a bad thing so long as it's not detracting or upsetting other things that are more important in your life. Sorry for the novel. Rant over.

Face Book, MySpace, Bebo etc etc. I agree. I was never one for all that bollox. I suppose it's mostly for kids, but if you're in your 20's an upwards, well, sort it out. I've had people ask me if I had a MySpace or a Bebo and I honestly feel like slapping them. It's different if you occasionally speak to someone via and instant message. I've a Youtube channel, but I only use that to put media onto for show, whereas MySpace etc etc, people put themselves up for show.

To know if you're addicted to something, then try to live without it and see what happens.

I'm unfortunately addicted to tobacco, and I'll need to read that magic book that helps quitting.

When it comes to the internet, I'm not addicted, in fact I appreciate to take a holiday off computers from time to time. It's true though, that I should do less internet, because now I read less than I used to.

There's over 120 million sad people in the world then mate

Your one of the worlds cool muthafu.ckas though evidently  :D

Its a great way to keep in touch with people, it doesn't mean you dont have a social life because you have one

To answer the original question, nah I'm not addicted to the internet, I'll come on here every day but if i had to i could live without it with ease, I don't think i have any addictions

I can smoke casually every couple of weeks like if I'm out with mates or something but then i can put them away and not touch them, I do the same with drinking

Yeh, but it's not the same experience and it's way more exhausting. I doubt it's possible to read El Quijote on a screen without having your eye balls melted down your cheeks
