hi, im having a really odd problem with my laptop.

1) none of my toolbars appear even though i installed them, reloaded firefox and refreshed.

2) when i close my browser, and i attempt to open a new one, it doesnt load. nothing happens and the only around it is by restarting my entire laptop again which is a criminal waste of time.

3) i cant open a new window. for example, if you want to see all emoticons on this site, u just click on the link below. and a new window appears. mine, not just for newkit, but every website, a window does not appear.

4) i cant seem to uninstall itunes and safari from my laptop. it says i have to contact the admin as i dont have enough permissions. like wtf! im the owner of the laptop how can i not have enough permissions!  :(

Is it your firewall blocking pop ups?

Failing that, alter your position to administrator.

Well all I can think is that Itunes and safari don't like having their programs deleted. My hunch is that if you manage to give them the push, all will be well again.

How are you trying to delete them?

i went into control panel and used the delete programs options. it was halfway through when a notice came up saying i ''dont have sufficient permissions. please contact the admin''
but i am logged under admin so im blurred out by this. i ran a virus scan and nothing was detected. my friend says it could be my motherboard.

You won't lose your files as long as you can copy them to an external drive before you reformat. I must admit it does stink of some sort of malware or the like.

Have you tried scanning using Spybot Search & Destroy - I've found it to be the only reliable method of detecting nasties. If this comes up blank go down the backup and reformat option.

One side note - you won't need to do a reformat of the drive manually. If you use your XP (or vista?) disk it will have an option to reinstall the operating system automatically.

Press F8, click on safe mode , wait till it brings you to the login page , click on administrator and try to remove itunes and safari from there .

Download Advanced windows care and clear up everything , seems like you have virus .

Reinstall firefox could be a hunch as well

Try that , failing all these contact Sabre

One extra thing to make sure is that you've done an update on Spybot before you scan, you'll need the latest malware/virus definitions to be effective in the clean up.

Secondly I would also suggest running spybot again after you done the update but in safe mode. Like Toffeehater said - when you reboot the machine you'll get a 10 second window to press F8 before the windows loading screen shows up. Go into dafe mode and rerun spybot

That's Microsoft forcing its own rendering engine on Hotmail. If your using Firefox there is a handy add on called IE Tab that will open an internet explorer window as a tab in Firefox to handle website that swill only open properly in IE.
