I missed 3 pens against them and they always knick a scrappy 1-nil. Wouldn't be like them, would it? So, a quick tampering with the tactics and formations and I reverted to flooding the middle of the pitch and keeping Nando up front on his own. It worked, but only after about three cracks at them with the 4-5-1 set up with Kuyt out wide right and either Riera or Babel in an advanced wide position acting as a support striker. I just beat them 2-0 for the first time. :D

I've noticed it seems to be Gerrard and Torres that have massive impacts by either scoring or setting up goals in all the games I've played. Exactly how we are, really. Very realistic. Can't get enough of this game, absolutely awesome. It'll go underrated, though, because it's Fifa and an EA title. They don't normally do awesome, but by f'ck, they've done it with this title.

ur havin a laugh right? bought FIFA last week (decent game by the way) and started manager mode on proffesional level and won the league and cup double undefeated, it was so easy it was untrue, moved up to world class mode for the new season, trying to complete one more season before PES comes out on friday.

Also whats up with the pathetic advantage rule on FIFA? the icon comes up for advantage, you carry on playing then the ref blows the whistle 10 seconds later, its terrible, and always seems to happen when ur steaming through on goal.

So according to you, the game is so easy it's untrue? I'd say you got the untrue part right. The game is anything but easy. I'm no stranger to football games, and I'm finding it difficult to score against mid-table teams never mind the big teams. I'm sure there are plenty here in this thread that would agree with me, and disagree with you. It's a proper sim, contrary to what many deluded PES fanboys out there believe, or want to believe.

Not sure about manager mode. Haven't touched that yet. And the advantage rule is a bit on the mad side, but a patch is already on the way to fix some of the "minor" games this game has.

I'm with you Emerald. The AI is really good this year, I don't believe he's played a professional season undefeated. Maybe he's got professional and amateur mixed up, and world-class and semi-pro mixed up too.

Basically it's a bloody hard game ive been playing these games forever and am by no means a slouch but when you get beaten by the Bluenoses 5-2 on world class that says something.

I think Dead Space is out a week on friday. I watched the trailer before and it looks amazing. Gamespot have already given it 9/10.

My roommate let me play on his xbox, and I'm not sure what difficulty it was on.  It scanned my 08 achievements and said experienced, so maybe it put it on the standard pro?

First game without my xbox dying I won 3-0 over Everton, then 2-0 over Everton.

Then I played the Mancs, and wow.  2 goals by Rooney in 6 mins, and a third to come much later.  I was very surprised by my defensive line playing so forward, ronaldo is way too fast for that to happen!

Some of the things you can do in FIFA 09 (I'm not even close!):

Free Kicks

Tricks  (These are combo tricks, he also has a video on standard/advanced tricks if you need)

Juggling/Advanced Juggling

I'm kind of amazed that people are already this good.  However its youtube, anyone looks good on it

Actually i think the AI's pretty good, but the profesional level, i found very easy, if you lot find it tough fair enough, cant see how though  :D

played a few games on world class level which is a lot harder, i shouldnt of doubted myself and started playinfg on that level from the begining.

I just bought it, and its terrifying!!! you have to watch every corner because those freaky monsters would jump from anywhere to attack you!! sometimes you would see shadows and hear voices of nearby enemies.  I :censored: all over myself when this monster, from out of no where comes out and tries to eat me, luckily I had my gun  :D

Gonna be treating myself to a new console pretty soon! :)
Hopefully in the next month!
Im leaning towards a 360 over the PS3,they seem more common plus are cheaper to buy.Heard a bit about them being prone to breaking?
What would people om here suggest?

Im mostly into games like resident evil, silent hill(i like games that are scary plus ya have to think a bit)
Also enjoyed the Medal of honours, castle wolfenstein on PS2,halo1&2 on Xbox

I'll play anything really, just cant ever get into racing games, they bore the :censored: outta me,dont enjoy those fantasy games either likes of morrowind.Too long and boring.Apart from that im easy!
Is the 360 deffo the way to go??
I know theres a few versions arcade,60gb and elite...Is the most expensive one less likely to get that 3 red light thing??
:)

Get the 60gig version.

All new 360s are less likely to break.

Wait until 2009 before getting a PS3 as they are still too expensive.

The 360 has an awesome back catalogue of games although the PS3 is slowly improving in that regard.
