any golf fans ? Im pretty much speechless that Faldo has gone for Poulter over darren clarke , poulter has done nothing all year bar a decent back 9 in the open when he ended up second where as clarke has won twice on tour , is a superb ryder cup player and has formed great partnerships with westwood and jiminez in past cups . I really hope this doesnt come back to haunt faldo

Am also shocked tbh.

I think Poulter is a top player and might do ok, but i think what he did not playing in the last ranking tournament (when he could of qualified automatically) was a little arrogant and some of the other players might be unhappy with his selection because of that.
Added to the fact that like you say Clarke has a proven track record of performing well in the ryder cup, then it was very surprising.
Personally i think Faldo had already told him he was in (Poulter)

But Poulter has had a decent year still and will do well i reckon.

Yeah i think he will do ok in the cup , i dont hink he could of qualified - i think he needed to win it and then have wilson finished dead last and not make the cut i think . im just glad monty not been picked - starting to dislike his ego a bit and has been :censored: for a while now - not sure if poults knew or not but we all know faldo is his own man - really wanted to see clarke in there and casey . there maybe a injury problem with karlsson so not sure if faldo would get another pick or if it would go to kaymer who was 11th ?

i think poulter was the better choice. casey is a total choker. poulter will come good. glad montys not there but he may have been the wise head we could have needed but this is ours to win i still say

usually on the last rounds when he plays, he chokes... hes like garcia... no bottle to kill a game off, well this year at least, from my experience anyways...

Poulter was the choker, but lately has seemed to come good, so im glad hes in the team but agree it is by sly circumstances and he was definately told a while ago

I think Faldo has dropped a right bollock not picking Clarke. The guy produced some magical golf 2 years ago in Ireland and considering what he was going through at the time his ability to do that surely shows how invaluable a player he is. Add to that his current form being better than that not only of the two picks but some of the automatic qualifiers I really think he should've been in there.
If I was asked who to have him in there instead of I'd have to say Casey. I can't really recall him doing too much in the tournaments I've seen him perform in this year and out of him and Poulter, Poults is the form player going into this comp.

The team on the whole doesn't look quite as strong as it has in previous years. There are quite a lot of rookies and the pressure of the Ryder Cup can be more than that of a normal major competition.
As always I'll be supporting Europe but I have a funny feeling that the absence of the Tiger will actually help the Americans and I think the may just win it by 1/2 a point.

casey isnt a choker just like garcia isnt a choker there records speak for themselves - ie garcia in the players championships and casey in the world matchplay - poulter did one decent back nine in the open - thats all he has done this year . he has got close in the third round and blown it in the final round just like many other players in the world maybe bar paddy and tiger .

and as for form players lately caseys form has been on the massive up turn in form - maninly his putting has clicked as tee to green he has always been superb . as i said poulter has had one decent back nine in the open .

clarke should of been there instead of poulter - who is far too concerned with himself and his own image .

p.s. i am a member at poulters first golf club and also play at the club in uk where he is supposed to be a pro but guy too busy with his image over in the states.

without tiger, the US is not going to win.  Notch up four in a row for Europe.

Call me crazy, but didn't the Ryder Cup used to only be between Americans and Brits? Not sure if this competition is fair, we should at least get Mike Weir on our side, whatayasay Bad Bob?

Love the Ryder Cup. When it's close, there's not really much that betters it for drama.
