I spent last Thursday night playing Kick-Off 2 and TV Sports American Football on the Amiga. OMG we have come a long way, can't believe how easily pleased I was back then. Forgotten how fookin difficult KO2 was plus playing a footy game without any commentary was well weird. Saying that we're gonna have another retro-night in the near future, thinking of flogging me XBox  :D

The Force Unleashed demo was kind of meh! Dumb enemy A.I, and that Sith character you have is FAR too powerful. It's nothing but a tech demo, I feel. The Euphoria and DMM engines really add nothing to the gameplay which is a shame.

I havn't played the demo, but weren't those new engies and enemy AI what was supposed to make the game great?

I'm shocked!

ALSO, I have a few days left of summer and I've been on XBL alot playing FIFA 08.  I'm not very good, but I'd gladly play a few games.  My headset is mostly broken, so don't be insulted if I can't say yo momma jokes  :D

Actually, I take that back. I played it on a medium difficulty, and it makes a massive difference to the experience. It need to be set on Sith which gives you a challenge. The more you play, the better it feels, which is always the hallmark of a great game.

I just downloaded the demo for Galaga Legions on Live. It's a remake of the old classic arcade game. It's quality, very hectic and worth a buy if you liked your old school shoot-emups. It's deffo worth a purchase if you like your Geometry Wars. ready for another leaderboard battle Red? :D

It's official: Fifa 09 has just taken a massive sh*t from on high on PES with the PES fanboy biased opinion of PSM3 favoring Fifa this year by giving it a score of 9/10. Even though PES 2009 has yet to be reviewed, I know for a nailed on fact that it's not getting close to how good Fifa is going to be this year. Nowhere near it. PES could all be but dead this year. Konami have f*cked themselves massively by not developing a next gen engine for almost 4 years ago now. They can't recover from this. They need a miracle for 2010, and I can't see it coming, because Fifa's new engine will be 4 years in the making and improving yet again on what will be the greatest football game ever made in Fifa 09.

I can't wait for the new Fifa. I'm still hammering the last one. I've just discovered the challenge mode this week and it's well recommended.
There's 15 challenges for each region and I'm doing region 1 - English leagues, SPL and the Irish league. The challenges are all of varying degrees of difficulty getting progressively harder. I've got 3 to do for an achievement : score with 2 midfielders and 2 defenders ; score 3 goals with ......... and 3 goals with ............ (the blanks filled in once you select your team) ; and score 6 goals with 5 different scorers and make no substitutes (all on pro level). I nearly did the latter one last night. I went Liverpool (v Waterford of Ireland) Torres and Keane upfront, Kuyt and Voronin as fullbacks. As a striker scored, I dropped them back to full back to rotate the front line antil Torres, Keane, Kuyt, Voronin and Gerrard all had a goal each. I was 5 nil up, 5 different scorers and no substitutions. With 20 mins left, I put Torres and Keane back up front. Could I get the sixth? Could I feck!
If you're like me and waiting for the new installment (due October), try the challenge mode, it should keep you busy for a month until the new one.
