Gotta disagree, mate.  I found Season 1 of Heroes to be a big, steaming pile of poo.  And, that was the season people were actually raving about (unlike the 2nd one).  Lost, on the other hand, is just brilliant television.   :nod

I thought the finale would of been a perfect way to end the series, Ben not allowed on island, the main 5 characters saved and John goes off to be the leader of the Others.

Ruined it for me when *bentham was dead.

lost just makes no sense. the writers obviously have no idea whats going on either... should have finished a long time ago (of course me not having sky one could have something to do with it)
and none of the characters are likeable. that dr guy is annoying, everyone is annoying... just an opinion like. anyways

That's cool, Daws...I recognize it's not everyone's cup of tea.  Have you ever tried watching the episodes all in quick succession?  If not, rent the DVDs (I wouldn't suggest that you download the episodes :D ) and see what you think.  I think the show makes so much more sense and is more enjoyable when you can watch everything in a limited timeframe.  It helps to keep all the details straight.  All I know is that there have been very few shows that have kept my attention span like this one.

As for Heroes, I tried getting into Season 1 but was just so bored with it.  There seemed to be very little character development or plot advancement for the first 3rd of the season.  It got a lot better when the story focused on the cheerleader and her Dad in the middle and then it just went back to being lame.  Ali Larter's some fine totty but her character was annoying and any scene with her dragged.  The Patrelli brothers both irritated the hell out of me.  Hiro's schtick got old very quickly and the Greg Grunberg cop character was not exactly captivating either.  It felt like the whole show just kept going round and round in circles wasting time until the big finale, which was underwhelming.  It was not my thing, obviously. :D

I've just seen JBG's posts above.  Obviously I agree about watching Lost about back to back and disagree about Heroes Season 1.  Ah well...as I learned in 7th grade French class 'chacun son gout.'

So, when can we speak of lost with spoilers?

I'm síck of this discussion, "Ohhhh what a belter" without telling anything. We need a proper thread of spoilers, in which those who are confused after the finale like me can understand what's going on. The one that enters there, knows that there are spoilers.

:D

There's a spoiler warning in the thread subtitle, mate, plus the regulars know not to look in here if they haven't seen an episode...so I say, ask away. :nod

**********Warning, Spoilers**************

******Again, warning, Spoilers***********

* Who the fúck is Jacob
* Why the need to go to an abandoned island at the end. Why the need to bring Locke too.
* Why Bentler is Locke, what the fúck was he doing in a tomb, wasn't he on the island when the island was moved?
* Why Sayid is a killer after he comes back
* What the :censored: is the island, is it extraterrestrial? is it a device?, what the fúck is it.
* Who are the others and why they don't get older, it can't be the island because others get old in the island.
* Why they need a leader at all

In a nutshell, * What the fúck is going on? :D
* Is it the end of the show, definitely?

Look fella, I didn't get almost anything of this show, mostly because I saw it without subtitles and I missed pretty much details. I'll watch it again and I'm sure I'll understand more, but at the end, I'm confused as fúck!

Sabre, I'll address your questions one at a time.

* Who the fúck is Jacob

We don't know yet.  This is one of the big mysteries of Lost and will probably not be answered for another season or even two.  We're all curious about that one! :D

* Why the need to go to an abandoned island at the end.

Do you mean why did they get off Penny's boat and take the raft to the Indonesian island with the fishermen etc.?  If so, they did that because Charles Widmore (Penny's father and the guy that sent all of the mercinaries to the island to capture Ben) had  placed plane wreckage that was supposed to be Oceanic Flight 815 at the bottom of an ocean trench near Indonesia.  In order to protect the people left on the island, Jack and the others needed to lie about what happened to them and so they needed to be rescued near the site of the fake wreckage.

Why the need to bring Locke too.
* Why Bentler is Locke, what the fúck was he doing in a tomb, wasn't he on the island when the island was moved?

All of these questions are related.  They didn't bring Locke with them--he stayed on the island when it moved.  What you saw at the end of the episode was actually in the future (a classic Lost "flash-forward").  So, in the future (3 years in the future, in fact) we know that Jack wants to get back to the island, Kate is raising Aaron as her son, Hurley's in a mental hospital, Sayed is an assassin working with Ben and Sun is the chairwoman of PAIK industries (took over from her father).  They all apparently get visited by Jeremy Bentham--who seems to be Locke--who questions why they left the island.  He then somehow dies.  This bit of the episode, though, was just a teaser for next season so we don't know what's really going on.  All will be revealed by this time next year, I imagine.

* Why Sayid is a killer after he comes back

Widmore's people had Sayid's wife, Nadia, killed soon after they were reunited and he teams up with Ben to exact revenge.  The people he kills are associated with Widmore.

* What the :censored: is the island, is it extraterrestrial? is it a device?, what the fúck is it.

No one knows, mate.  Perhaps the central mystery of the whole series, this one, so don't expect any answers until the very end of the whole show.

* Who are the others and why they don't get older, it can't be the island because others get old in the island.
* Why they need a leader at all

All good questions that no one knows the answer to yet.

In a nutshell, * What the fúck is going on? :D

In a nutshell, it's complicated. :D  Do you have a week?

* Is it the end of the show, definitely?

Nope.  There are two more seasons left, with 16 episodes each.

Look fella, I didn't get almost anything of this show, mostly because I saw it without subtitles and I missed pretty much details. I'll watch it again and I'm sure I'll understand more, but at the end, I'm confused as fúck!

Definitely watch it again from the beginning, mate, and try doing it in a shorter time frame (i.e. watch more than one episode a week).  If it comes in Spanish subtitles, so much the better, mate, because then you'll be sure of it.  It's well worth investing the time, IMO.  Lost and BSG are at the very top of the telly pile as far as I'm concerned, mate, and you well know how much I love BSG. :nod

Ah, some misteries solved. For some reason I thought it was the end of the show.

Well, just two more questions

* What's so personal with Widmore and Ben? Is Widmore the one who created or continued the darma project and the one that placed a system to hide it from the world?

In order to protect the people left on the island, Jack and the others needed to lie about what happened to them and so they needed to be rescued near the site of the fake wreckage.

Aaaaaaaaaaah, so it's not that they're in the future but how they faked the wreckage.

But

* How would they put in jeopardy their mates in the island? The island has been moved, and for what is worth, in an unknown place now?

Sabre, I think it has been hinted that Widmore was behind the Dharma initiative and we know that Ben destroyed the Dharma group so I presume that's where the hatred stems.

As for protecting those left behind, I think they are operating on the principle that the less Widmore knows about what's happened, the better.  I must admit, I didn't quite get that argument the first time through and may need to watch that part of the finale again to understand their rationale.

Anyone else got an explanation for the lying? ???

Ok Bad Bob, thank you for your patience, but as you see I still don't get so many things

* Why in a previous season the wrecked people were sent food from an airplane? The food had Dharma brand, why would they want to keep them alive with food? Especially considering that after that, they didn't seem to want to rescue anybody at all.
