Why now
We have had most of the summer to sort the team out , today we go onto a big game with a lot of uncertainty about what players are going or staying. we still need new players.
but look like we will be getting cheap cast off's

Start of a new Era well not for now looks like its going to be another year of the same

ok not cheap but Second rate,in the past other teams get french super stars and like Thierry Henry and we got El-Hadji Diouf and Bruno Cheyrou i just can not see us getting anymore top players , look we have prob keeping our own best players as it is so why would some of the worlds best players come to us .

i think i might be a bit down today

morientes was the top scorer in last season's champions league for a team who nobody thought had any chance of making the final. that's hardly second rate.

Morientes is a seriously good player mate and if Owen goes its not a bad replacement

Its gutting yes and I will miss him but we have no choice but to remain positive and at the end of the day we have an excellent replacement

Benitez is a proven manager and this looks like a new era

well if he cant not stop Owen from going it not looking good for his persuasive powers is it , i know owen has not been happy for a long time but i think he knows we are not going to be a top team this year ...just hope to god that i am wrong

to be fair that was after he hasd a good world cup, he had never really proved himself in a top league at club level, Xabi Alonso has with Sociedad and has got in to the Spanish national team , no mean feat.

btw, you can't blame Owen if he is interested, Barca and Real ar 2 of the biggest clubs in the world, and what would you do if clubs like that were chasing you? you would defo consider it.
Unfortunatley we are no longer in those clubs class, for now anyway, hopefully Beni can gradually take us back to the top of Europe .
