Yes it used to be a fishing port but times have evolved and the port is mainly used for recreation vessels, and a few minor fishing ships.

Yes, and those narrow streets have an atmosphere. It's common to do "rounds" visiting all the 24 bars of a street, you start in one end of the street, sober, and you end up wasted and singing in the other. Quick drinks in each bar and a tapa, here called pintxos.
