Can anyone tell me if there is an "unofficial" xbox 360 wireless network adaptor on the market that's compatible. I'm reluctant to pay the best part of £60 for the official one.

Unfortunately their isn't mate, the only other choice is an wireless ethernet bridge (I've got one) which will cos £40 TOPS  :;):

I already own the original game on my PC, and have EP1. I never even knew EP2 was out. It slipped under my radar as I haven't opened Steam in about a year. I'm not so sure it's worth getting Orange Box for the 360 having already bought the game. EP2 is roughly $30 on Steam. That's about £15. I might download it later.

Right, a question:

I'm usually well versed on matters like this, but in this case, I'm not really sure. I've a HDTV, but it has no f*cking VGA connector. It has a HDMI port, though. I want to use it as  a 26" monitor for my PC. The card in my PC is an old Geforce 6600. It's got a DVI TV out port. I'm wondering if I got a DVI to HDMI lead and connected it into the TV, would the TV and the card support it at the TV's native resolution, which is something around 1300x720?

Not sure to be honest Emerald. A DVI connector would work but I do know that you may have resolution issues.

Logically you should have no difficulty: its not as if you are going from digital to analogue or through component, but you might need to ask on a specialist forum.

As for the Orange Box, I have HL2 and EP1 on PC but will also get it on the 360 as HL2 and EP1 will get improved graphics over the original PC version (proper HDR maps etc) and also will have achievement points.

Any old excuse to play Half Life, twice the game Halo is IMHO.  :pirate

In your case thats the best option. 'Portal' and 'TF2' though are worthwhile additions for the rest of us. I played the original HL2 on the old xbox - and it was a tortuous experience to say the least. Never played the PC version. Though by all accounts this incarnation is virtually a direct comparison. Whichever way up - a cracking game and one that no one should miss out on trying at some stage of their gaming career.

I hear on the grapevine that there is an imminent patch due from Valve to correct some of the issues online with Team Fortress and lag etc...

Ive got 3 already on legendary mate. Not looking forward to activating any of em though! Epecially that Cortana level - a real pain in the 'arris that part.  :angry:

yeah it's a toughy allright

im ready for the orange box i took a load of old games that i dont play anymore
to gamestation and traded them in for store credit i got a 120gb h/d burnout revenge,armoured core 4 and a £81 credit note for thye next releases ill get the orange box and pgr4 i think :cool:

Cortana level, is the most annoying level in the whole game, god i hate it.

Paul I got PGR4, however im a bit dissapointed with it to be honest, very arcade like game and they changed the whole career mode.

The Motorcycles are hard to control too..  :D

I loved the demo and loved 2 & 3, I like the arcade style and it doesn't try to be too serious like Forza (which I might trade in).  I think I'm actually gonna get it on the way home from work today  :bowdown
