Rafa to resign on monday

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby 66-1112520797 » Sat Jun 02, 2007 10:34 am

Loads of bóllocks written in the press. If that is true, it means that "we'll back you" isn't true. If they do an investigation of that nature, what is it for? at the end of the day to limit and find excuses not to deploy the promised money?

The quotes from the Americans and Rafa, and what the press say do not match. And it seems to me the press doesn't want an stablished Liverpool so they try to unsettle the club at all costs.

That is all you ever say these days, printed by the press " It must be bullocks" and " The press doesnt want a stablished Liverpool so try and unsettle the club"

Whats that all about mate, you've been saying this alot recently and I dont understand it, especially the press trying to unsettle us, why would they do that ???

BTW Metalhead your probably right.

You tell me!

In 2004 they talked about the top 3, why they would leave apart the most famous club in England?

They even count the titles since the premiership exists, and they mention it everytime, why would they do that?

The rag lied after the Hillsborough tragedy, why would they do that?

Many journos give credit to Manchester and to Chelsea, not the most succesful club in England, why would they do that?

I don't know, you lot will know better than me. But they do.

And last but not least, why do we pay attention to what the press say and not the quotes of the new owners, and Rafa?  ???  In case of doubt, I trust the club, not a newspaper that is paid by funds that I don't know where they come from.

Yes, it's true, I don't trust the press, sorry for that.

In 2004 they talked about the top 3, why they would leave apart the most famous club in England?

Probably because we didnt finish in the top 3 ? Infact if they had of said top 4 which Is I am presuming you wanted them to say, then that would of included Everton not us.
Top 3 doesnt mean biggest or prestigous it means exactly what it says, no more no less. So that IMO doesnt mean there is an agenda against our club from the press.

They even count the titles since the premiership exists, and they mention it everytime, why would they do that?

Probably because its called the Premieship thats why, again I wouldnt take that as an agenda or conspiracy against us. We all know how many league titles we've won, but have we won the Premiership ? I'm sure Aston Villa supporters dont think there is a press conspiracy against them because they've never won the Prem.

The rag lied after the Hillsborough tragedy, why would they do that?

What they did back then IMO doesnt affect Rafa his players and the team now, that was a terrible lie against the people of Liverpool as a city, more so than to conspire against the club and its players.

Many journos give credit to Manchester and to Chelsea, not the most succesful club in England, why would they do that

This ones a gem, Many journos give credit to us aswell. The whole world of press doesnt have a vendetta against Liverpool ffs. I think Manchester United deserve any credit they get especially this year they've just won the Premiership oops sorry League, playing good attacking football. Chelsea for the first time in many moons have won a back 2 back league titles arguably the greatest achievemnet there club has made. So what, money played a HUGE part, but Mourinho and his men still have to win the f,ucking thing. Anyway now we apparently have the money so we cant really point the finger anymore especially if we're successful. Dont you think the press have a field day with Jose, and his club, the amount of stick they've come under for there Russian takeover and arrongant manager.

I don't know, you lot will know better than me. But they do.

Any British tabloid that has been mentioned on here, you've gone " bollox journolism, there known for rumours" or whatever. So  think you think you do know. :D

And last but not least, why do we pay attention to what the press say and not the quotes of the new owners, and Rafa?    In case of doubt, I trust the club, not a newspaper that is paid by funds that I don't know where they come from.

Thats fair enough mate, I dont know that. And if you dont trust the press thats also fair enough, but I thought the Independent was a pretty respectable paper.

Yes but then following that line of thinking, they'd talk about top 3 now. This year Arsenal was fourth, yesteryear aswell, but 3 years ago they talked about the top 3, and now they talk about the top 4.

Which leads to

Probably because its called the Premieship thats why, again I wouldnt take that as an agenda or conspiracy against us. We all know how many league titles we've won, but have we won the Premiership ? I'm sure Aston Villa supporters dont think there is a press conspiracy against them because they've never won the Prem.

Well, we do know how many leagues have won Liverpool. But when I hear comments in TV they do not remind that often some people. They instead insist on the premiership titles. In other leagues there also has been changes, and sponsorships, but we do not count the league titles since then. We count them all. Curiously enough, like in the last paragraph, the title counting in this case, doesn't put Liverpool in the top. Maybe it's a coincidence, but it smells strange to me.

About the rag

What they did back then IMO doesnt affect Rafa his players and the team now, that was a terrible lie against the people of Liverpool as a city, more so than to conspire against the club and its players.

True, but then, there's no reason to lie against Liverpool city neither. Why would they do that? we all know. And I link the two previous paragraphs and the fact Liverpool F.C is a team of Liverpool city with the previous paragraphs.

Yes, in this one, you're right, some journos give Livepool credit aswell. I was a bit biased there.

I don't only not trust Brittish press eh? I hate all press  :D

I agree with you on one point Sabre. Anywhere you look their is an unhealthy obsession with "The Premiership", it's ridiculous tbh. How many articles or shows do you see/watch when you think to yourself "do these lot know football was invented before 1992?"

I guess its because people prefer to focus on the last decade or two rather than 30-40 years ago, but for me their is still this ridiculous obsession with "The Premiership" - it's the same league that we've won 18 times ffs, and many are quick to forget that.

The Press making waves again.  They don't have much to talk about at the moment with regards to football so they invent the classic "The Manager Will Resign" story.  Heard it all before.

To be fair this story hasn't eminated from the press at all, rather so called "sources" close to the club on LIVERPOOL message boards.

What is he saying Bamaga-man? I just saw what crayons means. Does he mean it's a  childish discussion?

Maybe it's more serious to go and talk about transfers without knowing fúck all about football and club finances? Maybe it's more serious to talk about about we need to spend 25M now? Or maybe is more serious to talk about players to add to the squad after watching 4 mins of youtube videos of them?

Ah, well. I preffered to discuss with you those points to be honest, more interesting.

Yes he was implying something like that mate, maybe from his view it looked like an argument.

But it wasnt.

I agree with ya about those points being just as interesting.

Oh well, Eto for 45 million YAY !!  :D

The press are as bored as us right now, no footie and Shit loads of speculation. There are no concrete sources to any of the stories in the papers, its the usual scatter gun journalism, every so often they'll guess one right and tell you, 'you read it here first folks'
Fwiw i agree with Sabre, the vast majority written about footie these days is just conjecture and almost made up, there are no facts to back the story up, just 'a source close to...'

There is no story there, so the owners might be looking into the finances of the company they own? WOW,they might be checking to see what the club has spent on transfers and how?? again WOW. The way it is written intimates that it the first time anyone has done that, that there is some sinister reason as to why...bollox.

So where are the big 2 signings Rafa was expecting this week? Do transfers get announced on weekends ever?

Im probabaly being paranoid but we simply cannot afford to waste time haggling over price like we did with Simao not too long ago. I will be very dissapointed in the owners and Parry if I hear of any fustrations from Rafa on how he wanted to get a player but talks have broken down over price.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
