Yeah, just think, Drogba will stand out even more! Let's hope a plane mistakes him for a landing strip. :wwww

someone has set up a petition to try and get Adidias to give us some say in designs and to get them to make the kits unique to the club.

According to the Mirror, the design for the white shirt was leaked and the "Carlsberg" logo will be AGAIN in green. Looks diabolical. It's the little things like that that can ruin a good football shirt.

I spose, if its in Carlsberg's contract then what can Adidas or LFC do?

True. That could very well be the problem.

True. That could very well be the problem.

Then the question has to be asked who the fook allowed such a stupid clause to be put in the contract?

(Before all the smart @rse answers come flooding in I think we all know! :p)

Another question has to be why would this be even something the two parties would haggle over?
I'd be dumbfounded if someone told me that the value of the deal would be considerably reduced just because the sponsor couldn't dictate the colour that their logo appeared on the shirt.

It's bad enough that green isn't a traditional Liverpool colour but in the few years that we've been afflicted with this eyesore it has ruined quite a few exceptionally smart kits.

Does anyone know whether or not the online petition will actually be seen by the club or is it just an online thing? Maybe we really need to let the club know in some way or another that we are getting p!ssed off a little with this. Or am I getting too carried away over this?  :D

Well, its not necessarily stupid as everyone know's Carlsberg has a green logo (or white on green) and its part of their brand recognition. I know that Tommy Hilfiger for instance is very protection of the colour scheme of his logo (he had a show where someone switched the colours around and he was angry).

Besides, Carlsberg should be given a little leeway. I'm not sure how many know this but the Carlsberg-Liverpool relationship has produced the longest running shirt sponsorship in the Premier League.

Such a long term sponsor cannot simply be cast aside...

Classic red for the home kit.

Away kit uses the 1996 "quarters" pattern that LFC originally played in when they were established:

I also designed a new Brazil kit. I subdued the colours so they look more "Mexico 1970-esque" in appearance.

Obviously Gerrard doesn't play for them, but I use the same basic model for all the kits, so just ignore the face bit:

That's true and Manhattan is way too cheap to invest in art software.

All home kits essentially look the same from year to year on a basic level. The trick the companies use is to add shyt like a new collar or contour lines or whatever to sell it to willing buys. I like simple kits, that's why MS Paint works for me. Back in the 1990's kits became WAY too elaborate. Chelsea and Man Utd's horrible away kits are the prime examples.

The best kits are the simple ones.
