Bad Bob wrote:It's quite simple my friend.................the vast majority of the core support within the club have been shafted. Firstly by UEFA which we kind of expect anyway but then by ther CLUB which is about as hard to take in football as it gets especially at LFC where rather foolishly it would seem believed we do/did things differently.

The 35,000 fans with 6 HOME CL games were entered into a ballot in which they were not asked to even make a phone call or e-mail to apply for. In opther words LFC ASSUMED all 35,000 would want to go to Athens when around 3-5000 tenbd to travel to away games (depending on allocation)

If LFC had ASKED fans to make some sort of statement of intent via a website or phone system then maybe 10,000 wouldn't have bothered because THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF GOING. Just like Milan we have a significant proportion of fans who are "homies" and only attend home games. To assume as the club have done that every single "homie" would want suddenly to travel away is naive in the extreme.

There will be fans who wake up tomorrow morning to receive a letter from the club informing them they have been succesful in a ballot in which they didn't ask to be entered in !  Some won't even know there has been a ballot because they had decided last week they weren't going.

Have a guess where many of those tickets will be going ?

Simply disgraceful.  It sounds like administrative convenience trumped the requirement of doing right by core supporters.  What a betrayal!  :no[/quote]
A sad day in the clubs history Bad Bob, very sad indeed !

I see the picture now aswell Dalglish, and thank you for explaining there is a word for people who attends only to the home games, I'm quite a homie here, only 2 away games a season at my 31, used to trip more before  .

Disgraceful, and dissapointing. And what Leonmc says about people being whacked, it's not in my view an answer of anger, but might be perfectly a sure prediction. They should know better. They should know what LFC means for a supporter who attends all the games, and they should have planned this far more better, what Dalglish says about some people not going initially, it's a bloody fact, and it doesn't take rocket science to organise a system of request of the supporters that actually want to go.

Words are words. Facts are facts, I said the other day when discussing the words of the new owners, and the responsibles of this, Parry as I've read so far, has done shameful facts on this matter. :(

A poll here suggests 1 in 3 chance is about right.

Read it again soft lad, out of 497 who where elligible 119 got one, so thats 23%, however it only allows people to cast one vote so does not allow for friends results to be polled.

I make 18% versus 56% about 1 in 3 / 1 in 4. My point being its hardly the 1 in 10 that some people are claiming.

nowt to do with me really as i never had a hope in hell of getting a ticket but the way the club have organised the allocation is a fcukin joke. a ballot of everyone with 6 european games on their ST or fancard? so thousands of fans who wouldn't even consider going to an away premiership game in a million years, never mind a european away, get shoved in a ballot they didn't ask to be in?

the situation is this - hundreds (if not thousands) of people will have tickets offered to them that they have no intention of or desire to use. assuming most of those people buy up the tickets they've been offered, then maybe half will get passed on to mates/family who really want & deserve to go whilst the other half get sold on at vastly inflated prices or end up with the touts.

it's ridiculous - there are so many simple ways the club could've gone about this - starting with asking supporters whether they WANT to be considered for a ticket? maybe using one of these outside companies to operate a phoneline so those who want tickets (and qualify for them) can ring up and buy?

instead they've taken the "we can't be @rsed" option and done the easiest, laziest thing they could think of - a great big fcukin ballot which appears to have even been fixed  :no

i would've expected more of liverpool fc. shankly would be turning in his grave if he could see this mess

i don't think thats correct peewee. i will check though.

got the info from a mate in kl but i dont know how reliable it is

at the risk of bringing this more attention than it deserves, i can confirm that the Liverpool Supporters Club Malaysia does not have any tickets (at all).

peewee has already stated here, and via pm to me, that his info may not have been reliable. But unfortunatly the are some fantastic rumours flying around (in my part of the world) that this supporters club does have tickets.

It is simply not true. And it is unfair to the harding working passionate people that work voluntarily for the club to state otherwise.

rant over.

Try again !!

The 86 who voted they where elligible with 7 or more credits dont count.

The 108 who where not elligible to enter the ballot do not count.

That leaves 510 right now, of which 122 were succesful, which is 23% or between a 2 and 3 in 10 chance, which as stated before does not include friends etc....

Take a look at the figures on RAOTL for example, or the other thread on RAWK (another ballot thread).

Uefa communications chief William Gaillard courted further controversy by suggesting that Liverpool fans had “done well” to be given 17,000 tickets, as in last year’s World Cup final French and Italian fans were only given 4,000.

The Daily Post understands that Liverpool FC officials found Mr Gaillard’s comments “outrageous”.

Wasn't Gaillard the one that kept saying we couldnt play in the Cl after we won it ?
