Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I got in and am now trying to work to lack of plain English on the Triangle Travel website. I will get a ticket so have booked on one of the flights. Will they forward my ticket (I'd rather pick it up personally) or can I apply through the club when they post the details to me?

Hi there,

First of all congratulalions on winning through on the ballot.

The club did not disclose how many tkts were available or how many ST/FC holders were eligible for the ballot so there is little chance of working out the probability of winning through except to say that on RAWK where a lot more fans on there actually attend LFC games it looks more like a 1 in  10 chance which raises questions about exactly HOW MANY tickets were made available ?

I think its only fair to the fanbase to be transparent on these matters and its paptently obvious that LFC haven't been hence the conpiracy theories.

The club could quell these theories but choose not to ..........

I didn't get a ticket with 4 qualifying fan cards but hey lads look on the bright side. Go to comet or currys buy your self a big plasma telly with the money you saved, get your mates round and get absolutly :censored: ed when we win number 6. Then the day after get into town and welcome old big ears home. :nod
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

fix fu.ckin right it's a fix

sorry SS mate buit that theory is wrong based on my experience. Me and my dad have season tickets with 6 homes on and they are in the same name and at the same address.

There's defo something not right about this though  :glare:

This is my maths but I can't see how it is way off. Rick Parry stated on the website 4000 people had 7 or more games. Our allocation was 17000 so that leaves 13000 at least (cos not all will go). That 13000 is for those that went to 6 games. So how many is that? Well if you reckon Anfield had 40000 home fans for each game, take off the 4000 who's been to 7 or more and that leaves 36000. Not all will afford to go so I reckon 35000 at most would want to get their hands on 13000 tickets available.

Its the :censored: poor amount (17000) for us and Milan out of a 68000 seater stadium that is the bigger disgrace.

not everyone can afford to go but everyone with 6 credits (whether they intended on going or not) was put into the ballot.

17000 TICKETS :
BREAKS DOWN TO THIS
4000 FOR THE 7 GAME ATTENDEES
4000 EX SHAREHOLDERS EACH GET 1,2,3 OR 4 TICKETS SO LETS SAY AT BEST THEY ONLY TAKE 1 TICKET EACH THAT NOW LEAVES 9000 TICKETS.
PLAYERS & STAFF & LFC SPONSORS RUMOURED TO HAVE TAKEN AT LEAST 2000 BETWEEN THEM

WE ARE LEFT WITH 7000 TICKETS BETWEEN 35000 BALLOT MEMBERS

1 IN 5 CHANCE AT BEST

YET 4 IN 4 (SISTERS MATE)AT ONE ADDRESS WINS AND MYSELF, FRIENDS & RELATIVES NUMBERING, IN TOTAL 15 GETS NOTHING
BROTHERS MATE AND MOTHER SAME ADDRESS 2 OUT OF 2

I think a full explanation on how the draw was made and how many tickets were invloved for the ballot would be a start to clear a few things up.

Just gutted to see you all that dissapointed. And surprised, because if you take the succesful and unsuccesful ratios of this forum, and you extrapolate that to the whole crowd, I simply don't know who got that tickets.

If I read well, many of you are regulars, and some of you with 19 AWAY games this season!! it's indeed difficult to understand. :(

It's obvious that around football there's a lot of money and interests, and it's obvious money ruins a lot of things. It's just insulting to see touts here in this site, where as true fans like you have no luck.

I'm not saying everyone who shares an address is a winner but it helps the club if the paperwork is kept to a minimum by cherry picking

I just can't figure out how the club have come to the descision that this is the 'FAIREST' way for distributing the pathetic allocation from UEFA. I feel for all of you that have been planning your trips to Athens only to be disappointed. It looks like the hierachy at Liverpool Football Club are gonna have some serious bridge building to do with the fans who've been disappointed over this debacle. The MINIMUM that they owe the fans now is to come completely clean about how many tickets were actually allocated into the ballot out of the 17,000.

The possible business of people who have been successful and then not going to the game is also a disgrace and I think that the club should issue those fans who sell their tickets on, on the black market should be issued with life bans from Anfield.

Ill feeling like this is the last thing that should be dominating this club in the build up to such a big match.  :no

I had no plans to go to the final and will be watching from behind the sofa at home :D  but this is the last thing that the club should be doing to it's own fans.

Hi Sabre,

It's quite simple my friend.................the vast majority of the core support within the club have been shafted. Firstly by UEFA which we kind of expect anyway but then by ther CLUB which is about as hard to take in football as it gets especially at LFC where rather foolishly it would seem believed we do/did things differently.

The 35,000 fans with 6 HOME CL games were entered into a ballot in which they were not asked to even make a phone call or e-mail to apply for. In opther words LFC ASSUMED all 35,000 would want to go to Athens when around 3-5000 tenbd to travel to away games (depending on allocation)

If LFC had ASKED fans to make some sort of statement of intent via a website or phone system then maybe 10,000 wouldn't have bothered because THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF GOING. Just like Milan we have a significant proportion of fans who are "homies" and only attend home games. To assume as the club have done that every single "homie" would want suddenly to travel away is naive in the extreme.

There will be fans who wake up tomorrow morning to receive a letter from the club informing them they have been succesful in a ballot in which they didn't ask to be entered in !  Some won't even know there has been a ballot because they had decided last week they weren't going.

Have a guess where many of those tickets will be going ?

The stadium may have a capacity of 68,0000 but I did read somewhere that the capacity for the game is gonna be down to 65,000 because of amongst other things the bloody great big advert hoardings around the pitch.  :no  It's just not right that an extra 3,000 seats are out of commission so that TV viewers are supposedly bombarded with in game adverts.

It may be slightly off topic but it's proof of yet another nail in the coffin for the average football fan. COMMECIALISM now rules.  :veryangry

Will anyone be interested in buying one the tickets off me as i will only need two. I've got my flight booked for the 23rd leaving liverpool at 0600 and coming back 0330 on 24th.

I just cant wait. £540 for the flight £300 for the ticket (if isell the other three) is money well spent.

Lets bring home NO. 6

I have PM'd you.

Simply disgraceful.  It sounds like administrative convenience trumped the requirement of doing right by core supporters.  What a betrayal!  :no
