Saint...........On what basis do you think Cisse is worth more than £3,500,000?? I think that would be paying over the odds for him to be totally honest!

£3,500,000 for a flop in French football seems like good money to me!

A flop in french football who has scored 12 goals in less than 6 months after coming back from an horrendous injury again. FFS you may not like him but be reasonable.

Just name a better forward than Cisse we could get for £3.5million. An established international who scores goals wherever he has been and is still in his early twenties?

He's worth more than £3.5million mate, once he proves his fitness and rattles in a few goals his price will rise again, look at that c~nt Diouf so called off abroad at the end of the season for a big fee. What did we get for him, next to nothing! Sometimes its better to hang on than just take the first offer, even when you are desperate to get shut.

As of April 30th Cisse had only managed 6 league goals for Marseille in 17 appearances.

Where did you get the figure of 12 goals from in six months?? Has he scored another 6 within the space of a week??

I also fail to see how a player who will be 26 in August can still be classed as 'in his early twenties'??

If Cisse actually had potential and was a young player then perhaps I could understand the reasoning behind giving him another chance but he just isn't worth keeping on the wage bill at £50,000 a week.

Better news! Cisse and Simao in swap deal :-

Just needs translating lol

That means Liverpool wants Simao, and wants to use Cisse in the deal. Trocar -> Trueque -> ExChange. The article says that apparently Rafa is a great admirer of Simao (?), and also says Zenden is off to the Italian football!

Apparently according to the article aswell, we still don't want to pay lots of money for Simao, and that's were Cisse enters que equation. And we are apparently well aware aswell (?) that Micolli, Nuno Gomes and Derlei are going to be off Benfica at the end of the season.

That's it more or less, Portuguese is likely to Spanish. The article seems to be speculating though... is it from the "A bola" newspaper? or where?

In the last bit of the article, the journo says that this time Simao has been promissed that isn't going to have his legs cut...  :D which simply means that this time he won't be kept under his desire in Portugal, and will be allowed to go.

he was on the telly saturday afternoon on football focus.
during his interview he mentioned he scored 11 goals this season and then he scored another two since the interview took place.
he never said they were all league goals.
my problem with bringing cisse back to increase his value would be how long does he have left on his contract?
is next year his last one under contract with us?
if so no one is going to break the bank for a player they can sign on a free in 12 months, especially considering he is still a young man.

Thanks mate, I knew I had heard it somewhere, just couldnt remember where. Presumably he has scored a few cup goals as Marseilles have reached the French final.

Cisse has scored 12 goals in 24 games. Considering he came back from a leg break with no pre-season that is not bad at all. why do people like too comment on french football but don't watch actually watch it.  The fans are not booing him. it was just a minority when it was happening but you don't even hear them anymore.  Cisse's name is getting chanted by all the OM fans and if you watched the games you would see that.

As for the OM and Cisse deal.  Papa Diouf said on the website last week that it is still 50/50 as a fee has too be agreed with Liverpool and OM and Cisse need too sit down and talk about the future.

I think that the best way of offloading Cisse is going to be using him as a makeweight in a deal for a player that we want. That is still going to be as hard as selling him for straight cash but at the end of the day if we get a player in return as well as reducing the cost of that player then I think the club will be a bit happier to save a bit of face.

Either way £14m is a terrible piece of business and the president of Auxerre must still be laughing himself stupid over it.

That would have been a nightmare and a throwback to the mid-90's given of what I seen of him in the EPL. Awful!

Cisse can be used as a picture in a dictionary for the following definition:

"Laughable"

He is such a one-dimensional player it is ridiculous how predicatable he can be, "Run fast, blast it as hard as you can!" Now that he has had 2 serious operations he isn't as lightning quick as he was before and all that is left is his other strengths...................

   ???
"LIVERPOOL: 6 European Cups, 20 Domestic Titles, 3 UEFA Cups, 8 FA Cups, 10 League Cups and 4 European Super Cups and 1 Club World Championship

All other English clubs pale into insignificance!"
