Ooops, what a mistake, blame the gintonic.

Mikel Arteta, who's also from San Sebastian and had a big interview remembering all his career, from Barcelona, Scotland, RS, to Everton.

Cisse is better than Fowler or Bellamy. Enough said.

Nice try, and good to hear him speak well of the club, but I think he and LFC are done now. I did think at times that he didn't get enough of a run up front, but the bottom line is that he's not good enough. You look at who our nearest opposition have - Man U with Rooney, Chelsea with Drogba and Arsenal with Henry, and on a quality level Cisse doesn't come even remotely close. I'd rate him as a substandard Bellamy, and it's not like he's set the side alight this season.

The guy has had some tough times, but that should be that now IMO. We were on the verge of selling him this time last year, and he's done nothing since coming back from injury to justify keeping him on.

No hard feelings though - he did make me laugh with the hairstyles, and there were some good, and even some vital goals in there (the volley v West Ham in particular). Best of luck, but no new contract I reckon.

He couldn't score goals before his broken legs, doubt he's gonna improve much now.  Injuries he had are very hard to heal, he will never be 100%.

Cisse wants to come back....

Well i want a million pounds.
I think he has to mend relations with mr.rafa first...nice guy tho i guess. Seemed to me who was biting his tongue a bit when the stuff about playing out of position was brought up.

If that were true, he'd be playing still in a red shirt! Stop talking cack and jog on!

Cisse is not good enough for this level, yes he can score goals especially when teams push forward (which isn’t very often against us), but he cant do much else.

I think Robert Earnshaw would score as many goals as Cisse playing for us, but I don’t want either at the club.

For me Cisse is no better or worse than Bellamy, Bellamy works much harder and is more of a team player. Cisse is an idle lazy player who scores more and offers more of a threat. Neither of them is good enough to be first choice striker at a top club hoping to win the league. It wouldnt break my heart to see them both leave if we could get Eto'o or Villa. I still think if the best offer we can get is £3.5mill for Cisse he should stay though, hes worth more than that just as a different option. Sounds like our dreams of £7/8million for him are shattered now though.

from the interview, he looks like a top bloke.
but he his not up to liverpool standard if we want to win the premiership.
bellamy is a much better player than cisse imo. they both have pace, but bellamy has a better finish, first touch, work rate and bellamy actually has a footballing brain!
can't see rafa keeping him on, i'd be suprised if he did.

i like him as a person and by all accounts he was very well liked in the dressing room (not a nutter surprisingly, just a really top lad). but he's not good enough to play for us, it's as simple as that. he's got blinding pace and a ferocious shot but that's about it. he spends most of his games moaning about being caught (correctly) offside time and time again, and in his time at anfield he never showed much understanding of the game or his team mates

i think in the pre gillett/hicks era i would've considered taking him back, but now that we are likely to have some spending money in the summer why settle for second best?

thanks for the offer djibril, but no thanks

i seem to remember him giving rafa down the banks when he first went out on loan accusing him of not having a clue how to play him and ruining his liverpool dream etc.
i cant see rafa forgiving that.
if we only get about 3m for him its as big a net loss as we had on diouf assuming we gave him away to bolton for free.
to be fair he did show a bit of guts in the f.a cup final and during the shoot out in istanbul and i honestly believe he loved the club and the fans but as a piece of business he`s been a disaster.
he always seemed to have a good chance late on in nervy games to ease our tension but miss, like against chelsea in 2005 when he had the chance to lob czech.
