Nothing to do with the quality of your posts simply the number of them:

newBie - must have over 1 posts - # pips for this level = 1

Member - must have over 50 posts - # pips for this level = 2

Advanced Member - must have over 100 posts - # pips for this level = 3

Super Member - must have over 500 posts- # pips for this level = 4

I will also add some more levels for the most active and longest members soon
