Afternoon all.  I just wanted to say hi and that I am looking forward to a great couple of games against the mighty Red's in the Champion League.

Rafa-Dodd posted on our Barca forum trying to get our thoughts before the big game and I thought I would pop in and see what all your thoughts are.

Personally I am slightly concerned with the fact that we are playing at home in the first leg and Anfield is never an easy place to go to needing a result.  We are also missing a few players, well they are just back from injury but this game, especially the first leg, might have come along too quickly for them.

To me it will all hinge on the first leg.  Rafa will revert to his old Valencia ways and try and kill the game as a spectacle, perhaps hope that we get hit on the break the longer the tie stayes at 0-0.

Either way, it is always a pleasure to play one of the top clubs in European football and a club with pride and history, unlike another English (Russian?) team I could mention...

Nice to see a some mutual respect between opposing fans! :D

All LFC fans are excited and cannot wait to next Wednesday as i'm sure Barca fans are also...it should be a massive game over 2 legs...2005 Champions VS 2006 Champions, pity it was not the final!

Being honest and having huge respect for a team like Braca i would be a liar if i said i was confident of beating your team at Camp Nou.
I truely excpect a draw in Spain...i think thats my heart ruling my head maybe.
I feel Barcelona may be in danger of feeling they know Benitez too well..in saying this i mean They are expecting us too come and play very defensively and stop Barca playing. This most likely will be the case but to set a team out to counter this would be foolish. On our day and at the top of our game we can attack and put too shame the best defencese in the world...NO disrespect intended but Braca have not got a world class defence.Your strenghts are in playing attractive passing attacking football! This is why i feel we will flood the midfield with 5, Sissoko and Alonso being the key in breaking up play giving Gerrard room to create and get forward. Its hard to call who will start on the wings though.
Saying all that don't be expected if we go for the jugular early on,maybe Barca wont expect that..I would be delighted with a 1-1 draw in Spain.

The match at Anfield, well anything can happen there...we are strong but by no means indestructable! As for the outcome,i think we should all wait and see how the game goes at Camp Nou before we speculate on this one!

Lets just hope for a great tie over 2 legs.I really hope the team that deserves it goes through and that will LFC i hope!

Cant wait to next Wednesday...these are the games that football is all about!

COME ON RED MEN :buttrock  :bowdown

Good luck Barcelona!

buanos dias poor sunyol
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

Both will struggle against Ronaldinho and Messi, especially Riise if he plays. He's having a god awful season.

I expect that you lot will win the first leg, anything but a defeat for us would be great.

Welcome btw.

Finnan on top of his game can hold his own against anyone.
Let me tell you something fella,LFC are not afraid of players because they are household names..Roaldhinio gifted as he is can be as inconsistant as the next man if not more so.Don't make the mistake of thinking that any of our players will be a doddle or an easy touch..if your manager does that its a a severe touch of complacency he may regret!

As for Riise, granted not the best but capable of ramming a 30 yard thunderbolt where it hurts...don't forget that.

I find your last post a bit disrespectful, highlighting 2 players you see as weak because yoe see Messi and Him that carrys Mr Eds teeth in his head as superstars.....Superstars they are but dont forget we have superstars too!

Cant wait to see what you post next Wednesday around 10pm!
