Different strokes for different folks though Dawson, I watched Second Hand Lions the other day and thought it was great, my wife thought it was cr@p. I don't think I am has highbrow when it comes to films as you, I just watch to be entertained really. I hate asian films (don't tell Woof) :D

I have seen remember the titans(good) and tried to watch stay. I gave up after about 30mins, I probably lost interest after about 15mins lol. I preferred the Island. I dont really like mind fk pictures Jacobs Ladder had me reaching for the razor blades lol. Having said that, I hated Donny Darko the first time I saw it, but after having it explained to me(bit thick) I really enjoyed it the second time.
