I really want to go somewhere where there is proper snow. But I can't because I don't decide where we go on holiday.

Dward (and Dawson for that matter) your yearning for snow and cold is curious but I suppose the proverbial grass is always greener!

Might I suggest going on a nice trip to the Alps or another mountainous region with snow?  The idea being, you can visit winter on your terms, for as long as you please, and then feck off back downslope to escape the tedious misery of it all.

Edit: just read that last line again and I sound like a right miserable moaner.  Winter's not really that bad, I just don't prefer it is all.
